Welcome back Sundays Girl - so happy to hear you had an amazing wedding and honeymoon.
Argh I really want the you beauty discovery box as I really really want to try the GlamGlow mask. Just don't have the money to justify it at the moment, plus I am trying for no INS
Thanks
Snap - I *really* want to try this - almost caved and bought it duty free but came to my senses given the price and fact that I might not like it. Would be great to be able to trial just one sachet.
My stash contains around 350ml of face mask so it really isn't needed.

How are you getting on with Dermablend? I am still really wanting to try this and would love to hear your thoughts - I think we may be similar in skin tone too from what you have posted before.
Wanna see? have a look here!. Taken in daylight, no flash or filter.
The colour is actually a really good match, any darkness you see at my jawline is just a shadow from my double chinOpal seems slightly more neutral toned than ELDW Cool Bone -- less pink not certainly not yellow. Doesn't seem to oxidise on me.
The box says "matte finish" but I disagree, it has a demi-matte finish, what you see in the pic has been powdered over with Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I can still see a bit of dewiness. It hasn't covered the moles but I've tried to sheer the coverage out towards the edges as my skin is ok there, it's my chin and cheeks which are my problem areas.
My beef with my skin is enlarged pores, mild rosacea on my cheeks, millions of blocked pores on my chin which often turn into full-blown spots and scarring caused by me picking said spots :wall: I also have a couple of small sun spots by the corners of my eyes.
Verdict? Pores are still visible, although I could make them look smaller if I powdered with a velour puff instead of a brush, I just CBA this morningCheeks and chin discolouration are covered really well IMO, and the "dot" you can see by the corner if my mouth is Saturday's spot which is still slightly "wet" (sorry if TMI) so nothing will stick to it
I should add, I am wearing NO concealer. Anywhere. Not on the spot, or the scars, or the high colour patches on my cheeks. Instead I applied an extra thin layer where I felt I needed extra coverage and it feels enough. Definitely a thumbs up for buildabilty.
The info leaflet in the box says put it on the back of your hand, move it around to warm it, dot it around your face and blend with your fingers. Tried that first time around and it did NOT work for me; the product is fairly liquid but when I tried to blend it in, it just "seized" and I couldn't blend it at all. I'm using my normal application technique (RT buffing brush for the first coat, RT deluxe crease brush for under eyes and any bits which needed a top-up) and that works far better for me.
Is my skin looking flawless? Nope, but in truth it never will, not with my application skills. It's definitely a full-coverage foundation and I'm trying to use as small an amount as possible to avoid caking, but as my DH says, safari, sagoodi!
Hope that ginormous waffle helps on some way :rotfl: xx0 -
Good morning lovely ladies, pleased that holibobs and honeymoons turned out great:D Boo to dental treatments though (even with dishy dentist)
I have been called for Jury service for 2 weeks starting last Monday, yesterday went off to county town (kindly accompanied by DH) to recce where to go, bus and train times etc, it is going to be a bit convoluted and I cannot walk any long distance, so am a bit:( about it all. Happier now I know my way around, but took advantage of a little free time near shops, and to cheer myself up, did make a few little purchases:o
Necessary - L'Occitane Shea Butter Lip Balm stick, mine is nearly finished and B.Pure Micellar Water - need an eye make up remover in a few days and this was (as mentioned a few days ago) half price.
Not really necessary, but have been wanting to try it for ages, and was half price Superdry Vit E Hot Cloth Cleanser, also half price, I really like the Brightening one, but wonder if this might be better for my skintype.
Also got some L'Occitane sample sachets, but don't count these in totals. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

I'd like to know your thoughts on comparing the two HCCs; I'm using the brightening one too and I'm very happy with it, but the grass is always greener0 -
FizzWhizz - when you apply your foundation with your buffing brush if you go over your enlarged pores in clockwise circles first then back over them in anti-clockwise circles this gives them good cover.
rosemary/willowbee - hope you get your dental problems sorted soon.
Glad you enjoyed your hols And.
Thanks for the words of encouragement ladies on my not buying anything at all, in honesty it was just a habit I needed to break.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

It might be a while:o, I usually have two cleansers on the go, using a balm one twice a day and a cream hot cloth cleanser for a second cleanse to make sure that make up is completely removed. ATM using Rodial Glamox balm and Gatineau Melatogenine Cleansing Cream with a SD brightening cleanser kept in the shower to make sure that shampoo or conditioner residue (although I try to avoid this) are not left on my skin - allergy type reactions:(The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. Thanks Dolly, I've tried this technique before but all it seemed to achieve was rubbing the rest of he foundation off the high colour surrounding the enlarged pores, so I looked like I had foundation-coloured 'black'heads across my cheeks, with red skin all around! My skin is really terrible, I find myself looking back to my youth when I had smooth, porcelain-looking skin and I thought getting one hormonal spot was the end of the world -- if I knew then what I know now, I would have walked with my head much higher!
maddiemay, sorry to hear you have such delicate, allergy-prone skin. I hope the Vit E cleanser proves to be a winner for you0 -
A UU from the PP list: another 150ml A!di Lacura Hydro Urea foot cream. My local A!di had reduced these to £1.59 whilst I was away and they have now all gone, so I'm glad I bought an extra one whilst I could. My daughter also bought me one of the hand cream, so my feet will be OK for a while yet.
Other items on the PP list are still going strong, apart from the Sanctuary Spa body whip, which has 1 more application. Which is very MSE of them, I suppose!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage."
