Good morning lovely ladies, pleased that holibobs and honeymoons turned out great:D Boo to dental treatments though (even with dishy dentist)

I have been called for Jury service for 2 weeks starting last Monday, yesterday went off to county town (kindly accompanied by DH) to recce where to go, bus and train times etc, it is going to be a bit convoluted and I cannot walk any long distance, so am a bit:( about it all. Happier now I know my way around, but took advantage of a little free time near shops, and to cheer myself up, did make a few little purchases:o

Same sentiments from me for the newly married Sundaysgirl and McCulloch.

Maddiemay make sure you take a book with you as I've heard Jury Service can entail a lot of waiting around.

Have another UU: Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cleanser. Think I only have one pot left. Whilst I've suffered no adverse affects from using this and it does cleanse my skin well I much prefer the Lime Blossom one and will switch once these pots are all gone.

I think this was on my PP list (which I've lost Grrr!). My little tube of C&P is probably going to be UUed tonight as I've cut the tube open.

Did purchase a bottle of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons for Emma yesterday as it's a fave of hers and she's working so hard at the moment. Has started her GCSEs. Am planning to go and get her a bottle of Chillin Like a Villain (?) tomorrow too. The bottle I bought yesterday was reduced to £4.00 in Sally's so not a bad gift. The Chillin one though is a new Muppet colour so will be full price.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Another couple today; avon cherry blossom conditioner - didn't really condition, poor customer service, and test on animals...wdnba ;) Also finished a little 'So...' perfume - so in love. Quite a nice smell, young and a bit like nice hairspray...but I did like it. Lol.
    Cookie, I think you're tame. :heart2:

    Hi ladies

I don't know if I declared this uu from the weekend so apologies if I already have

Elemis Tri Enzyme Gel Mask - 15ml, I got about 4/5 uses out of this little tube, it did leave my skin very smooth but I'm not so keen on the fact that it makes skin sun sensitive. I have another this size in the stash and also a 400ml face wash.

Hope the weather is gorgeous where you are.

Oohh I love the Tri Enzyme face wash!!

Think I need to join this thread as I have FAR too many toiletries!! What's the deal - do we have to do a list of shame of what we are looking to use up??

Bought is to buy. Brought is to bring.

Glad you had a great holiday mcculloch - did you come back with a stash of said toiletries?!

Well done on resisting the glam glow Sundays Girl - I would love to get hold of a sachet as well. The you beauty discovery box is good for £7 but I just can't justify buying anything I don't 'need' at the moment.

Wanna see? have a look here!. Taken in daylight, no flash or filter.

The colour is actually a really good match, any darkness you see at my jawline is just a shadow from my double chin :o Opal seems slightly more neutral toned than ELDW Cool Bone -- less pink not certainly not yellow. Doesn't seem to oxidise on me.

The box says "matte finish" but I disagree, it has a demi-matte finish, what you see in the pic has been powdered over with Rimmel Stay Matte powder and I can still see a bit of dewiness. It hasn't covered the moles but I've tried to sheer the coverage out towards the edges as my skin is ok there, it's my chin and cheeks which are my problem areas.

My beef with my skin is enlarged pores, mild rosacea on my cheeks, millions of blocked pores on my chin which often turn into full-blown spots and scarring caused by me picking said spots :wall: I also have a couple of small sun spots by the corners of my eyes.

Verdict? Pores are still visible, although I could make them look smaller if I powdered with a velour puff instead of a brush, I just CBA this morning :o Cheeks and chin discolouration are covered really well IMO, and the "dot" you can see by the corner if my mouth is Saturday's spot which is still slightly "wet" (sorry if TMI) so nothing will stick to it :(

I should add, I am wearing NO concealer. Anywhere. Not on the spot, or the scars, or the high colour patches on my cheeks. Instead I applied an extra thin layer where I felt I needed extra coverage and it feels enough. Definitely a thumbs up for buildabilty.

The info leaflet in the box says put it on the back of your hand, move it around to warm it, dot it around your face and blend with your fingers. Tried that first time around and it did NOT work for me; the product is fairly liquid but when I tried to blend it in, it just "seized" and I couldn't blend it at all. I'm using my normal application technique (RT buffing brush for the first coat, RT deluxe crease brush for under eyes and any bits which needed a top-up) and that works far better for me.

Is my skin looking flawless? Nope, but in truth it never will, not with my application skills. It's definitely a full-coverage foundation and I'm trying to use as small an amount as possible to avoid caking, but as my DH says, safari, sagoodi!

Hope that ginormous waffle helps on some way :rotfl: xx

Wow thanks for the review Fizz that's really useful, you covered all the information that I wanted to know! Your skin looks great. I apply my foundation in pretty much the same way using the same tools! Think I might try this out although this completely contradicts my earlier point about not buying things that I don't need :rotfl:

Morimor nice to see you - hope you are ok and that your internet gets fixed soon.

Don't think I have seen rougeylawyer or mad scientist recently - sorry if I have missed your posts but hope you are both ok anyway.

Welcome hieveryone - different people do different things on here. Some people post a whole stash list whilst others just post a list of items that they are targeting to use up. Or you can just post things that you use up or buy. We don't really have any rules - just do whatever works for you :)

I have another humongous spot - it is like a second chin growing from my first chin  - ETA - Just removed my make up and it is even worse that I feared, massive under the skin / white head, just 'dealt' with it but it now looks even worse?! Not sure how I am going to cover it up in the morning, it is huge!

So more UUs but did read in the papers today about B@@ts launching a new P&P serum, apparently getting rave reviews. Not sure of price but thought I would mention it here :p
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.

£23.95 for the normal one, £24.95 for the Intense one for older skin. They're doing No7 vouchers again so if anyone's after the serum get something tiny first so you get the £5 off!!

Only discovered all this by setting foot in Boots today :o Had a £10 voucher to spend, was planning to get La Roche Posay Effaclar toner, and then discovered it was mostly alcohol and the acids were way down the ingredients list, so instead got the Good Things Deep Pore toner. Have had this before and know it wont do miracles, but I like it. Also got a Bourjois eyeliner pen but I don't count make up.

Have another UU though: Tresemme Colour shampoo. Though it was 50/50 that and some other shampoo from ages ago!

    KT, just a couple of points to add on the Dermablend;

It stays very wet. I always shower twice a day as my work is very physical and I need to destink and reapply my face before DH gets home :p However, yesterday he was out rehearsing and I delayed my second shower until about 9pm; by that time my face was not a pretty sight :( My skin is very dry but it looked horribly oily, and the coverage had gone v. patchy, my nose was basically bare! And that's after powdering with Stay Matte. I've never had this with any other foundation, ever, the box claims 16hour coverage but I'm disputing that.

And this morning, I woke up to not one but TWO HUGE spots on my chin. Great big under-the-surface bad boys, the kind which hurt when you talk and if you dare to smile then you briefly consider cutting your own head off just to escape the pain. I'm no stranger to big spots but as AF has just packed her bags for the month, these are out of the ordinary for me. I can't definitively point my finger at the foundation but I'm eyeing it with suspicion. I'll persevere for a few more days and let you know my further thoughts. I'm such a martyr to the cause :D

Have you got any witch hazel you could apply to your new "friend"? DH swears by aftershave, but he's a man so what does he know?!

Funny that we apply our bases in the same way with the same tools! Are we makeup twins, somehow separated at birth?! ;)
