    Put your case in front of a judge and they will likely see it in the same way as we see it here - hasty, emotive, pedantic and uncompromising. You seem to lack objectivity and seem to be rushing in to action. You can start threatening court after just a week, it'll be hell of a comedown though when you submit court papers wait like 3 weeks for an acknowledgement by the defendant, couple more weeks for the defence. Month or so for mediation. Then another month or so for hearing.
    Don't get ahead of yourself because following through with court action will not only cost you the initial outlay (will take months before it's warded back to you , if successful) but also because if you need a car you may have problems whilst the case runs its course.

    Just my opinion as an independent third party. Even if you will probably take a disliking to it and call me a pushover as well ;)

    Just to let you know he text me to say he will send me some money for the tire. Also he is looking for a replacement heated windscreen.
