Yesterday I bought a ford fiesta from autotrader. Its a 2006 plate. I test drove it but didn't find any problems. SO today I drive to work and i find out that the steering is odd, it hard to turn the steering and the steering wheel doesn't go to the center after you turn it.
So what can i do? He said if you have any problems let me know and ill fix it. I found this a bit off, implying i would have a problem with the car. So i call him today and he said alright ill call up the garage near you and see if i can get it fixed.
Is this reasonable?

Sounds very reasonable if you ask me0

Sounds fine if he follows through with it. Things do break unexpectedly (as you said, no problems on the test drive) and as long as he sorts it for you reasonably quickly - obviously, depending on what it is that could vary a bit - he's pplaying fair.0

Yes I just hope he sticks to his word. He kept going on about how I know here lives so doesn't want me to sell me a dud car. As I could go round his house. Well I shall see.0

Seller standing by his word and going to look at the problem for you and it appears to be a problem? :eek:0 -
It could just be badly sorted geometry.0

Steering odd in what way? Juddering, simply off-center, what?
His comments when the sale was made don't sound fishy to me. And his actions are honourable so far. A lot of used car dealers would have just turned round and said 'sorry gov, 7 year old car, not my problem'0 -
Well also the heated front windscreen isn't work, which he clearly advertised on the listing. and he kept going on about how amazing the heated front windscreen is.
I will try get him to sot that out also.0 -
Hopefully he does what he has promise you because most of these traders suddenly have a change of heart after hearing about the cost involved.0
