I will be voting UKIP, Don't think I have voted since the late 90's but I am sick and tired of the current crop of politicians, over paid and do nothing. Some parts of N.I have turned into little Eastern European states and getting any form of unskilled work seems damn near impossible as the migrants have gobbled them all up and driven wages down to peanuts, we are the lowest paid region in the UK. The sooner we are out of Europe the better IMO, I will also be voting UKIP next year in the general election, Sod your Sinn Fein,SDLP,DUP,UUP who do damn all for your average working man.

I could be wrong, but I am not so sure that the aims of UKIP will benefit the average working man. They want out of Europe to avoid all that nasty employment legislation and proposed banking legislation among other things. Hence I suggest some of the support from sections of the press.

They blame immigrants for many wrongs, and make claims that seldom bear close scrutiny.

I have asked many people why on earth they moved to NI, of all places! Some very interesting answers and a common one is that they cannot afford to buy houses at home if they stayed at home, because of property prices being driven up by inward investment from guess where! Seems to me that many immigrants are your average working man, and are also being exploited.

In inner Belfast some wards have about 15% of the population from other countries. Add to that the number that have married someone from the EU and people from here that now work and live in other parts of the EU. How do you unravel that without causing many ordinary people severe problems?

As for the EU definitely in need of reform, but it is the largest economy in the world. Many of the problems it has is because the member states all seek to maintain their influence, hence the daft structures.

For myself I would refer a Europe with power devolved to the regions. A large Switzerland would suite me just fine. In that scenario it is the clowns at Prime Ministers question time that are unnecessary. What is cheaper, 3 MEPs or 18 MPs?

Importing people to work at minimum wage is economic nonsense. The cost far outweighs the contribution.

    As for importing beggars....

I have skills, I am a carpenter, wages have been driven down from the mid 00's when the migrants started to arrive, the same can be said for the likes of joiners, mechanics, plumbers etc. Not all migrants do unskilled work although the vast majority do, but because my wages are now minimum wage I am in the same pool as the non skilled.

I agree, who ever thought that was a good idea? The problem now is a lot of employers will pick migrants over locals due to the fact migrants are prepared to work long hours for next to nothing because they can afford to do that living 5-6 to a house. What do the locals do? The entire thing is a mess.

Countries with sensible sovereign immigration policies such as Canada and Australia can pick and choose the best candidates and exclude "useless eaters". I met a doctor recently who tried to get into Australia but was rejected because there wasn't a need for his particular skills in that branch of medicine.

We tend to see immigration as one way traffic. How many British and Irish, plasterers, electricians, bar men etc etc are there currently working and living in other parts of Europe? It is not just the well educated and skilled from here that find employment abroad.
