I'm no longer on the register as I believe that being obliged to provide my national insurance number is illegal as the information was not gathered for voting purposes. I raise this with every political party I encounter but can't get a thing done. It's perfectly legal since the law was changed for this purpose. Personation had always been rampant here. Death was never an obstacle to voting.“What means that trump?” Timon of Athens by William Shakespeare0 -
I'll be voting for NI21. As a unionist I am constantly appalled by the behaviour and ability of the unionist representatives.
NI21 may well end up the same, but they deserve a chance in my opinion. Something needs to change.0 -

If you don't vote, don't whinge.
I don't live in Newtownabbey as you well know."Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
Well...... all I can say is, anyone who doesn't vote has absolutely no right to sit and complain about anything overseen by our councils or public bodies..... I find it hard to believe that there are no parties out there that wouldn't cover most of the values/principles of most voters.... even if they haven't a hope, you should still go out and vote..... heck even if it's for your local Independent.0

NI related information was collected for the purposes of collection and allocation of NI contributions and for the payment of benefits. The old plastic cards stated that they were not to confirm identity. With identity theft on the increase, the sharing of this number to mitigate the risk of person action goes against data protection principles and is not a robust control. It should not be a requirement to vote in NI. It isn't anywhere elseMortgage at 01.01.14 £119,481.83:eek: today £0 Emergency fund £5.5/5.5k & £200/200 cash.:jWeight 24/02/19 14st 7lb now 11st 12lb determined to stop defining myself by my mistakes. I thought there was a £1000 fine for not registering...? Or had that changed?0 -
To those people who have decided not to vote I say, great! The fewer people who do not vote, the more my vote will count.
BTW. in Council elections there are usually some seats decided by a single vote.0 -

Or if there really is no party you can allow yourself to vote for - then still go but spoil your vote.
TBH I don't like any of the parties, the traditional Unionist and Nationlist parties are all tied with the same brush and are too busy arguing with each otehr to run the state.
Green Party - no thanks, all the environmentalists add is extra taxes IMO
Alliance - In my opinion the best of the bunch as its a vote against unionism/nationalism, they want to run the state for the benefit of the state and understand that a United Ireland will or won't happen depending on the wishes of the people of Northern Ireland - however I don't agree with their policies on education and a few other things - so am never too sure if they deserve a vote.Weight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0
