Is nobody else wondering what she spent the remaining £3 on?
Please tell0 -
Fascinated by the "apple lathe", but I have always left the peel on anyway, much to the annoyance of my children when they were at home, however when I gave them the choice of having pies /crumble with peel on or peeling the apples themselves the objections stoppedEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

This made me laugh, good for you.I find I leave the peal on most things now as I have arthritis and find it difficult to hold the peeler.
In fact find I prefer roast carrots and parnips with the skin on.
On the other hand perhaps I am just getting to be a lazy old sod
I find myself nowadays looking for shortcuts or an easier way to do things.Slimming World at target0 -

Hi diddly 74 - We also went to Lakeland (on Sunday) at Bridgemere and bought an Apple Peeler.Couldn't get it to work right a first but after a bit of fiddling and shouting at it now works like a dream. Hadn't been to Lakeland before and I was like a kid in a sweet shop. Super place !0

I'm thinking of buying one, (I think they are £7.99) but wondered how good they are?
I was thinking from a slimming point of view as well as money saving.0 -

I suspect now might be the time to confess that I did roast potatoes yesterday with the skin onThey were lovely and no waste!!! (plus most of the vitamins and fibre are in or just under the skin so healthier too

Oh no  I've got a loaded apple tree and a branch of Lakeland in my nearest shopping town ......
But I'm trying to stick to needs so I'll stick to doing my half a dozen apples a day for now"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
I had one years ago...is it the rack where you dry out thin slices of potato?
The crisps were quite nice, but slicing the potatoes thinly enough to get the best results was an utter, utter pain and took ages. So unless you have, or are prepared to invest in, something that can slice them so thin they're transparent for you, I wouldn't bother. I think mine went to the charity shop years ago.import this0
