Wondered if anyone could tell me about the Remoska? I'm thinking about it, but would have to get a Grande one which is very expensive. Is it just another gadget or is it truely the wonderful thing that people claim?

    Thanks
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
  • Butterfly brain - Aww shucks the strawberry slicer is not available at the moment - must have had a run on them after you posted it! :rotfl:
On the opposite end of the scale, a gadget I have which looks and sounds useless but actually works well is my avocado slicer
Babyshoes - I have a pair of the wooden tongs from Lakeland (sounds like a chocolate fire guard I know) but absolutely brilliant for taking stuff out of the toaster - much safer than sticking a knife into the thing! Think they cost under £2 - one "gadget" I do use everyday!:)

Quick answer about the Remoska(though reading the other remoska threads will help): I have a standard and LOVE it, but there are people on here who really don't get on with them. There are only 2 of us and I hardly ever use my big oven now. But Lakeland (despite selling some very odd gadgets) have FANTASTIC customer service, so if you got one and hated it I believe they would take it back - so you can't lose. If you are really thinking of buying a Grande read the other threads where people discuss what they cook and swap recipes, and complaints. we're not all the same and some people just don't get on with them and some of us LOVE our Remoskas !

Please tell me there really isn't?? Nooooo way................Nooo there isn't ...is there??

I would love to think there wasn`t but yes I bet there is. Ohh to be deprived of biting into a strawberry, or even sucking one to death if no teeth. Ohhh and a tenner buys an awful lot of strawberrys. Must lie down now. Really overcome

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but has anyone tried the quarter-pounder maker? Really, really tempted by it, as mine always break up a little.

I just use an egg ring (also useful for making crumpets!), I squish the burger mixture well down into the egg ring till it's thick enough, and it comes out perfectly round and never falls apart.

Hmm hadn't considered an egg ring..and anything that doubles as a crumpet maker, can't be bad! :D:D

I've got a burger-maker and use it all the time. Mine isn't a Lakeland one, I think I got it off ebay but it works just the same, you can make the burgers as thick or thin as you like. I normally make a load in bulk and stick them in the freezer.

Well, tonight I will be crawling into bed and reading my Lakeland catalogue - having never really looked into what they sell. I had a glance yesterday and seen at least 3 types of pea cutters - WHAT? So i imagine i will be amused by the whole ca talogue!

Hoping to go to it with a friend , so will be leaving the purse at home (considering it's my first visit!)
