Sorry Pixie1 I have been away for a while and only just got back. I bought the jam maker, but - what a wimp I sound - hid it for a few days (I felt guilty, not sure why as I'd saved up the cost of it and it was all my money, but I am v untidy and there wasn't much space to put it ....) then I boldly got it out and OH so wasn't interested anyway !! Lol. But then we went away so this week will see me christening it. We were in France and while there I bought a french jam recipe book as they use less sugar (I think) but certainly make runnier jam, which I prefer for using with yog. etc (we don't spread it on bread a lot).
Be warned, anyone who goes to the Bicester Lakeland, there's a Julian graves just next door so a small outing can do quite a lot of damage to the wallet. I wish they weren't so very tempting !!!!

  • Ooops! I accidentally ordered the jam maker yesterday. I've had to put my Kenwood Major and my Panasonic breadmaker on ebay to make up for it. I hope it's worth it!
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!

    Extraordinary....
I recently filled in a questionnaire for Lakeland and they asked if you had bought anything from them that you didn't find worked. I bought a Bamix years ago and have found it absolutely useless - can't get it to do anything. I said that and a nice lady from Lakeland has just rung me, and they have asked me to send it back and will refund the money. I am completely gobsmacked. I've had it for YEARS at the back of a drawer - but they said it had a lifetime guarantee and actually rang and offered me a refund. How much better customer service than that could you have ? I shall use the money to buy a second Remoska (a Grande this time) so they'll get it back anyway, but HOW GOOD IS THAT, eh ? I'm so chuffed !

How's the jam making going jam makers ? I made onion confit which tasted a bit odd, so am going to do some strawb jam next but I wonder how other people are doing ?

    Also experienced exemplary customer service.

Bought an item which did not meet our expectations.
No fuss whatsoever - refund or replacement offered.
Accepted refund and it was processed quickly, even before the item was collected for return.

That they gave a refund for something that was in the back of a cupboard for years, as above, only goes to show what a good company they are to deal with.

Customer service is what helps keep customers returning, and there are so FEW companies delivering to this standard.

    TOP MARKS. :T

    Lakeland are just superb...

They missed a delivery date for Christmas so someone from the local store DROVE all the way to my house on the last Saturday before Christmas to make sure I had it!!!!!! Without being asked, their initial idea was to put it on a taxi? I mean, that shows that they cared about my Christmas as much as I did, it was so wonderful (and they threw in a box of choccies for the "inconvenience")....

They were so good, I felt guilty for wanting the present!!!

They just want the customer to be happy. And full lifetime guarantees with ALL their stock, I end up buying things from them , it's worth the extra fiver to pay into an excellent company.

I hate giving them 5/5 - they exceed every other company!!!!
    I love surprises!

I asked for Lakeland vouchers for my birthday and got a cheque instead which I intend to spend on an order :)

Can anyone recommend a good container for the bread from my Panny 255?
I've seen the locking boxy things but I'm not sure of the best size... or would a purpose made bread container be better?

    TIA!

My angle is... someone who leaves HM bread lying around on plates and chopping boards, covering up the cut end as best I can, til it either gets eaten or goes stale and gets made into crumbs :)

So I really don't know what the best thing to put bread 'in' is, and would really love to hear from someone who has tried something and liked it :)
