I go to the Handforth Dean shop regularly and it is really nice. Its an out of town location so there is plenty of room for buggies, wheelchairs etc.. The car park is quite small, but there is a huge car park at the large pub next door. The restaurant is very busy at lunchtime so you need to register as soon as you get there and they give you a bleeper whilst you walk around the store. the restaurant is quite expensive- sorry. it does have a bargain bit.
my very best buys would be the easy peeler, dryer balls and the silicone bakeware.
If you go down the road nearby, where the Belfry Hotel is, towards the main A34 dual carriageway, you will come to the Stanley Green Trading estate. I often go to the huge TK Maxx there as they sometimes have the same stuff there cheaper e.g. I got a simplehuman bin there at just over half the Lakeland price.
Another great place nearby and well known to locals is Nixons farm shop. It is down Bolshaw lane, off the road that the lakeland shop is on, going in the direction of Stockport/ Manchester. It is only a couple of minutes away and they rear their own stock, have on site slaughter (so no transport for poor animals and you would never know it was there) and they butcher it. The prices for the quality are amazing. Also it really is the kindest, most assured way to buy meat. they do have a website if you google it.earn what you can, save what you can, give what you can :hello:0 -
I've shopped with lakeland for 25 years, they had a very small selection of products back then.My kitchens like the lakeland catalogue I can tell you.The good thing about Lakeland is that the quality is usually suberb and if it's not up to your expectations they will refund or replace without question. You just have to ring them.
I love that egg timer too,so did my daughter who took mine home, got to get a new one next time I order.0 -
I love Lakeland. I have shopped their since I got married 17 years ago and have a kitchen full of their things. I use most of the them. They last for years and are very good quality. I think you get what you pay for with most things.
I love all the things that others have quoted.
I also like these http://www.lakeland.co.uk/product.aspx/!3033_3031_3029_3030 great for the freezer, drawers, cupboards. Last forever.
I like their freezer bags and clingfilm. It's good quality.
I always order online and spend over £60 about twice a year to get the free gift.Wendy0 -
my worst, well most useless has to be the pasty makers, put the pastry on the gadget, add filling, fold one side over the other, voila! perfect pasty ... wrong! filling falls out, pastry doesn't stick, gadget & food goes in bin
I notice they don't seem to sell them any more
I love my pasty maker!!
(You have to wet the edges of the pastry otherwise it won't stick together!);)I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!0 -
Quick question about stay-fresh bags... does anybody else make an equivalent product? I live in London and can get to any retailer in Central or South London easily - and can't bring myself to pay Lakeland delivery costs, or (god forbid
) make my order up to whatever price it is so I get free delivery! I live on my own and buy in bulk, so these things would be a godsend.

Hi Bargain Rzl,
There was a thread on these a few days ago and someone said they'd seen them in Tesco:

B.Rzl, you could send off for their catalogue, and then wait and wait and wait and they will (probably) eventually send you a voucher for £5.00.
Or you could ask on the "coupons and vouchers" forum if anybody knows of any codes for free delivery.
Alternatively, they have a shop in Windsor - forgive me if I am wrong, but don't you have a relative who lives there? Perhaps s/he could call in and buy the necessary for you. Here's a link to it:
