It says there were new posts on this thread, so clicked on it, expecting it to take me to the most recent...instead, it just dropped me in the middle somewhere. No idea why.
I liked the old forum layout...at least it worked!0 -

your treadmill is not accurately displaying speed could be one explanation
what sort of time can you run on the road?0 -
Will be glad when this half marathon training is over. Got up early (5am) on Saturday to get the run out of the way. It was dark.
Torch time I think!

I get up at 5 to run anyway - I prefer it that way
My running coach thinks I'm strange.:rotfl:
I started doing it last year because it was far too hot (even at 8pm) to run. And I love seeing the sun come up.:o:oSealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

another early runner here! Hubs starts work at 5am so I'm up and out, I like the quiet, lack of traffic and how cool it is.0

I'm an evening or preferably night time runner. I'm rubbish at mornings in general. A pity that's when most races are!
Planning a little bit of carb loading tonight. Yay :j
(And shhhhh to those who say it isn't needed for a mere half)

I didn't carb load for my half. Man, I was so hungry the following few days. I think it was also why I struggled.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I'm glad I did carb load. I got to the point where a gel tasted lke absolute nectar, and you know you needed it when it doesn't taste like sickly slime!
Then I got home, forced down one bite of food because I thought I ought to eat something and promptly carb-unloaded, if you see what I mean.Sorry for TMI! Looks like my stomach wasn't ready for solids.
Great race though!Sunset and mates and running. Happy days.

Must get a long run in the bank tomorrow. Made the mistake of going for an "easy" 3M barefoot run on Tuesday. Felt good at the time as the running style doesn't put much pressure on my knees. My calves have been killing me since then!
3 weeks until Nottingham marathon, I'm hoping it will be the first marathon in which I can run not being utterly hungover from the night before in an alien city...0
