    You don't seem to get it, both activities are illegal to under 18's. So if they were happy to serve your "son" alcohol of course they would let him play a fruit machine.

    no because he has an id showing he is old enough.if the pub had asked and seen this then I wouldn't be as fuming as I am now because it woud have been his own fault.

    It can be assumed that most 16 year olds have capacity to make these decisions (c.f Fraser guidelines). The only one to blame for your son's actions is your son. You shouldn't be trying to bail him out but instead trying to use this as a life lesson. And that's the difference between good and bad parenting.
