After reading some posts where people had an untaxed or uninsured car and the DVLA send one ticket and then when thats settled send another. It may end up costing more than being stopped for no insurance.

The DVLA will see they taxed a car without insurance. I wonder if the fine will arrive faster than the new V5C?

As teh car is not insured you need to SORN it and return the tax otherwise its going to cost you more.

I expect it was done by the previous owner before any money changed hands. :-/

So your girlfriend is going to insure it with you as a named driver but you are going to drive it most of the time = dodgy.

No gf shall use it mainly

Why not wait a day to collect the car while they resurrect your father?

After all if he's not back after 24 hours seems a waste to sorn the car and send the tax disc back.

Father in law has changed his mind which is why gf is ding it in her name.
