    Hi

I was looking to purchase a car,has mot,V5 available, would take out 24hr car insurance to allow me to drive car home.

Would post office have any objections as it would only be a valid 24hr car insurance I'd be able to provide?

Fathers due back from holiday who would then add car onto his insurance.

PS - don't mind paying the 24hr car insurance as I'm getting the car at a very good price.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.
Is that a different father to the one that died last year?

My father passed away, had a few catalogue accounts..

    He had no savings,property,estate etc

Forwarded a copy of death certificate thinking that would be the end of outstanding debts as the accounts were solely in his name.

Only reason why I need to do 24hr insurance is to be able to drive away after purchase plus gf is due back from holidays the day after, would then be able to add car onto her insurance.

Oh, it's changed to your girlfriend now.

Why do you need somebody else to insure your car anyway? Are you planning a bit of fronting?

OP seems to have a habit of changing the story between/during threads. ;)

Loads of dodginess going on by the looks. Lots of threads started for "friends" which later turn out to be him.

At one point father in law (gf dad) was going to put it on his insurance who's also on holiday, later got a text from gf to say he'd changed his mind and wasn't doing it.gf then said shed put it on her insurance.

I really shouldn't be having to explain last second updates but there you go for the Columbos on the post.

Not looking to answer any other pointless questions.

It's a real simple question regarding taxing a car and am looking for a real simple answer..

Why can't you just insure it?

Yes that is another option but works out cheaper to get gf to insure it as she has several years no claims..

She can't use them on more than 1 car though.

    And that's fronting. ;)

It's not fronting if you declare the main driver correctly.

I wouldn't put a bet on that happening!

Why not wait a day to collect the car while they resurrect your father?

After all if he's not back after 24 hours seems a waste to sorn the car and send the tax disc back.
