Thought I was being silly but I thought best got out of the way. We watched others skating for half an hour after we got of the rink and the child and adult were still at the same when we left.
Thanks!0 -

Please post how you get on and good luck with staying upright.0 -

Thank you! I'll definitely report back. I now have a large yellow bruise from thursday's bump...Still not proportionate to the pain...:rotfl: I knelt down to help my little man pick some toys up earlier and I nearly went through the roof!!0 -

Oh dear, take it easy & have fun!!0 -
I have just returned! Had a fab time. Just practiced what we did last time and I felt more confident. Didn't fall over either - yippee!
Even managed to do the turning to the left and right. My shins were hurting tonight but not sure if that was to do with how I fastened my boots.0 -

More than likely down to tying your boots too tightly. They need to be just tight enough to support you but loose enough to allow ankle flexibility. It's a bit of a juggling act getting the right balance so just try out different methods such as missing out the top row of lace hooks. Sounds like you're doing great though.0 -
When I first started doing turns my knees and shins used to hurt loads, I think I was putting *too* much effort into it, tensing up and working 'against' my body and not letting the skates do their work.
Well done Anoneemoose and Jo4 for continuing and enjoying your lessons.0
