  • Evening all. I am so full I canny move. It was my brother's 40th today and we all went out for a meal. My mum paid for it and it was bloody fabulous. Diet is gubbed yet again :o . Get weighed tomorrow and I am definately going to put on about 3lbs at least. Ho hum.

Had to buy myself shoes today as my black shoes had a hole in them. Also had to buy black trousers as none of my other ones fit :o .I am such a fat git just now I should be called Nelly. So bang goes the bingo winnings but it was really quite a treat to spend some money on me for a change. I missed Martin's programme again  .

Right tomorrow is another day and I will defo get organised with diet and money again.x

So I'm on emergency tax am I? Hmm, does that mean I'll get it back soon.
I handed in my P45 the week I started work in Nov last year.
They did say at the tax office that they hadn't received it in one breath.
Then when I rang them again as my head office said they had sent it, they said they probably would have received it but there is a months back log.

Does anyone know their number to ring them. I'll phone tomorrow on my day off :j
  • Hi Binnie. From thelittle I know about tax I think (pretty sure) you will get a nice rebate once they get their butt in gear :)

I am in a quandary again lol Whats new huh?

I have realised that the houses where I live have shot up in price and the whole reason I want to be debt free is to be able to move to somewhere bigger. If I sell my house then obviously my secured loan would go and I would be able to pay off most of my debt from any profit. Ponderous thoughts as I have seen one I really like. . Silly spends today. We all had bought lunches and I bought a chippy tea. Spent nearly £20 on cr*p. Need to stop it. Ok am away to do mortgage calculation lol

lol tif, I've been going for apx 18 mnths and never had the urge to fart, and I only ever heard someone once but maybe different types of yoga have different effects:rotfl: . I've heard that apparantly good yogi's know moves that can effectively clear their system, best to have a bucket handy - if you know what I mean_pale_ . Fortunately non of my class are good yogi'.s:rotfl:

MIT, does this mean you might have enough equity in the house to pay off your debts and get a bigger house even though prices are rising? That would be fantastic for you if that's the case.

    I always miss Martin's programme:(

    Hiya Tif,

Maybe it was my over spicey spag bol then.

  • Hi lassies. Red I'm not sure. I've been researching all night and looks like it might be a goer. I'm going to do the wee bits and pieces around the house over the next couple of days as I am off until Wednesday :j and then call estate agents and get this place valued. I have been looking at prices achieved and they vary hugely. My house is nice and modern and looks quite good in pictures so we will see what they say. If I get what I hope to get then yes most of debt would go. Might need to hold onto the car loan but other than that I think I could pay it off. Even moving onto a bigger house it would still cost me less per month as I am paying out so much just now for credit card debts. All a bit up in the air at the minute but I will know more by next week. Going to make a few viewing appointments tomorrow anyway and start looking. OOOOOOOOO exciting and scary. I have never made a huge decision like this on my own before. x

    By heck what a day.
I tried to get a payment holiday from my loan as I am struggling to find the extra £200 a month I need to keep in my bank before payday.

I get paid on the 7th of the month now in this job and a lot of payments like Credit cards are due well before then, so this means having to try and find the extra money to cover them before I actually get paid.
I rang Lloyds Tsb who declined my repayment holiday. I only wanted a months grace as that would help me very nicely indeedly.
They said it wasn't actually them who had declined it but the bank.
I then rang the bank and they said it was because I have so much credit used up and my credit rating wasn't so good.

I got my credit report a few weeks ago and even though I have never defaulted with anybody, I do owe quite a bit on loans and cards and probably used up all my credit limit.
To get to the point,Iang all the companies which I no longer have credit with for example M&S card, and they shut my account down completely. I hadn't used them for years but still showed it as a live account.
Also there were 3 accounts which I have used in the past from catalogues like JD Williams, Simply Be, Fashion World, they closed them all for me.

I then rang experian and they verified that I have done the right thing and my credit rating should improve over the next few months.

I then rang the Inland Revenue as I wanted to know what the M1 meant after my tax code and they verified I was paying too much tax and was because I hadn't sent in the right P45.
What had happened was I had accidentally sent in the one from the person who employed me for a week instead of the Jobseekers allowance one.
They said as I was on the M1 code with the other employer even though it only lasted a week, they couldn't do anything until I sent the original P45 in from the Jobseekers.

I then rang the number on the internet which I thought was my local Jobseekers place and they put me through to the Jobcentre in the next town. The lady said they had put me through to the wrong place and she was helpful but wouldn't get off the phone.

So I eventually ended up with the right place and they said they couldn't issue a new P45, and that if I ring the Inland Revenue they would hold the records of what I had claimed for etc.
I then rang Inland Revenue again and they said rubbish, if we had the details we wouldn't have put you on M1. So back and forth I went.
Eventually they told me to get a statment of earnings which the jobseekers people didn't know if I could have one at first. After much debate , they eventually said I could and will send one on Monday. RESULT.
I then forward it to tax office and Hey presto get my correct code and refund of too much tax.
Yipee, what a lovely day off work I've had, NOT !!!
