lol MIT - I'm in shock too!! Think it'll require more than a new hairdo to make me look like a total babe but the OH seems to like it anyway!

I just had a cut and colour, and he did a fantastic job, although I'm still a little unsure about it. Not that there's anything wrong, the cut is lovely, the colour is fabulous, and really well done, but I'm not used to being so dark so it's not quite me when I look in the mirror - if you know what I mean! I also got champagne and chocolates, a lovely head massage, and for once I left the salon feeling pampered and ready to hit the town - unlike my usual place where I normally have to go straight home to dry off, get the dye off my face (and once off my jeans), and completely re-do my makeup. I'm not sure how I can afford to keep going there but I'd sure like to try:o .

Sorry to hear your mum's not well, I hope she recovers quickly. Make sure you take extra care of yourself as well, it can be emotionally as well as physically draining when your relatives start getting frail and are living on their own. My gran developed dementia, she's been in a care home for the past year but prior to that it was a huge strain on my mum and was starting to make her ill as well.

  • Good for you Red. Enjoy the pampering. I would love a day like that. Maybe when I am debt free I will give myself a huge treat.

Spent nearly £20 today but only £14.32 on weekly shop. I was £195 last week mind you so I would have had a bl**dy cheek spending more. Made the shopping scanning nice and easy :D . I had DS at a Christmas party today, took a couple of mates and their 2 kids as well as it is my work that runs it. Was fab but unfortunately DS was up twice during the night being sick( and I mean sick  ) said he felt dizzy etc so I think it may have been a mild migraine due to worrying about my mum but I dont know. So poor soul was really under the weather today. Ususally dances his legs off and joins in all the competitions but he just sat and watched today but reused to let me take him home. Feels much better now thank goodness. Mum feels a bit better today but still really frail. No wonder I am bloody exhausted lol.
Hardly a bit of work done in the house this weekend but hey ho who cares. I have my moneysaving head back on thank goodness so I can hopefully stop the spiral of spending now. Take care x

Sorry to hear about DS MIT, you really are having to deal with it all at the moment! Has the hospital suggested anything he can take to help prevent the migraines?

lol MIT, I wouldn't worry about it, a friend of mine had her DD at the hospital seeing consultants and having hip xrays because she wasn't walking properly. Having a spare hour between having an xray and seeing the consultant, she decided to get DD some new shoes, and discovered the ones DD was wearing were 2 sizes too small. Got the new shoes on and she walked fine! It had just never occured to her they might be too small.

No kids myself but only because I struggle to keep even plants alive, I'd give a kid about a month:o

i have to keep it upright with a hair bobble.
  • Hello all. I am off today as I have had the sickness bug from hell the last 24 hours. What a nightmare!!

Hopefully over now but I ache all over so taking it easy today. DS had it at the weekend and my wee mum has it now too. No doubt I will get a call from DD's school at some point to go and collect her. .

One good thing is that I have spent no money other than kids lunch money. Been too ill to make packed lunches but will hopefully be better tomorrow.

We are on strike Thursday and Friday due to an imposed pay deal. P*ssed off about it as it means December's wage will be rubbish. Not the best way to start the new year but it does mean that I can get on with the wallpapering in my kitchen and hopefully get it done over the 2 days.

Going for a wee snooze now. Take care x

  • ok today I have done all my clicks. I sold a £10 voucher on e-bay for £10 !!! Mad or what? Have withdrawn the money from paypal to pay off of Barclaycard. Have another couple of pounds to come fromanother cashback site and about £6 from Quidco. Thats nearly £20. Going to pay it today and try and reduce the debt to them a wee bit. I really want enough to be able to pay the balance of that card at the end of the month. I doubt it mind you but I am going to try my best. I have a few things to put on e-bay but will wait until Friday so I get 2 weekends to sell it. x

  • Evening all. Finished my training today. Have loads of expenses to claim so will do that next week after the strike and when I get back to my own office. Will pay it directly to Barclaycard when I get it as I have already put out the extra cash and survived. I was thinking earlier about the fact I am on strike and before MSE this fact would have filled me with dread but I KNOW I can make my budget stretch and I will manage to last the month ( might be tough) . Another thanks to this site. I'll make sure I have enough food in to do me for a couple of weeks of January anyway and kids will just have to realise we will be having a 'poor' month. DD has now had sickness bug too - surprise, surprise- so hopefully no more puking in this household for a wee while.
Decorating my kitchen and last night I knocked over my ladders and took a huge chunk out of my work surface. I called a joiner to come and see to it but my mum reminded me of that wee thing called insurance!! I was quite horrified at the thought of claiming as it was entirely down to my stupidity but hey I have accidental damage so I am going to call them tomorrow and see if they can help. I'll cancel the joiner in the meantime.
DD has a wee part time job and she asked me for £7 tonight for a cinema trip she is going on with the school. I had a small chat with her about it and pointed out that it was rather selfish of her to ask me for it when she has more than enough to pay it herself. I feel a wee bit bad about it though. Not long to Christmas Wohoo !!

  • Good evening. Off work today so have been wall papering my kitchen. It looks fab. Lovely and fresh. I called the insurance company re the worktops and they said fine just to complete the form they are sending out and get a quote from the joiner I was going to use anyway.

I am due £95 from the Pru for my car insurance through Quidco. I really hope they pay out soon as I want to pay it off of my Barclaycard. I want my Barclaycard clear ASAP as I want to do a balance transfer as my 0% is running out soon on my SONY CARD. Never mind at least these days I have a plan and am not panicking about the payments going up.

Cant wait until the kitchen is finished and cleared up as it is impossible to cook anything other that pizza and muck like that and that kind of food just lies like a lump in my tum. I cant even get away with making packed lunches as the dust is everywhere.

I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks as i am going to have a social life for a change :rotfl: and its all paid for :j . Speak later xx
