  • awww I'm just back from seeing wee Ray. What a guy. It was a fantastic concert. He had 2 separate support acts ( both wee lassies) and they were both brilliant. A great night he is a real wee entertainer, Spent £16.50 but hey ho was well worth it we had a ball. DS is away to bed a happy boy.
Only thing is it has put me well in the mood to go to more gigs as I really love it.
I must resist, i must resist ( wonder if there are any tickets left for Meat Loaf) :D . no no I must resist

hey mit, glad you enjoyed ray... just out of interest, did he do lots of finger clicking?
i think he's a good singer but i can only imagine him as eddie munster. i keep thinking an old man is going to appear on stage next to him then turn into a bat.
i really enjoy going to gigs and people tend to get me and the boyf tickets as presents, which is really good.
going to a concert on wednesday, really looking forward to it cos i used to LOVE concerts when i was in my teens!
get myself a pint in a plastic glass and i'm back there in the 90s, 18 years old again!:T

  • Phew!! no tickets left for meat loaf. To be honest I would never have picked Ray as a gig to go to but DS totally loved him and I took him for his frist concert. Thoroughly enjoyed it though. Got my mum tickets for Mamma Mia today for her Christmas. Bought her 2 of them for her and a pal but I am secretly hoping she takes me ;) .( I've already saw it before but would happily go again). Only spent £2.40 today at church so not too bad. Made my first ever apple pie and it was yum yum.

  • Hello there
DS's bed came today and I want it !! It is well comfy. I got him a new quilt and pillows too as his were getting really scraggy. One of my e-bay items is up at £21 and still has 7 days to go :j , I have a total of 28 watchers on my items so hopefully will be a worthwhile sale this time around. M&S will be paid this month for definate wahey!!. Need to make sure I keep the money for the patio and the summer house also as I dipped into it a wee bit tonight for quilt etc. Never mind I'll make it up. I am actually feeling quite good again about the moneysaving. So long as none of this money for the summerhouse etc ends up staying on my CC and accruing interest as I will be fuming at myself if that happens. Ok I am going to send positive vibes to all e-bay buyers to buy my stuff lol x

how good is a new bed! our spare bed is the best bed in the world, we sometimes make an excuse to sleep in it rather than our own room!
i'm feeling pretty good about the moneysaving too, paid off my credit card and have updated my signature.
the money I owe is mainly owed to family and i'm not being charged interest, thank goodness, but its just always at the back of my mind - "what if suchabody needs the money and i can't pay them back this month?" and "what must they think of me being in this pickle?" i am so lucky to have a family who realised the interest situation was going to tie me to my debts for quite substantial amount of years and helped me out, so grateful.

my overdraft is the bane of my life and i'm reducing it gradually. i can't wait till my bank shows the same amount in credit as the amount available. its so misleading when it says something like £30 in credit, £530 available.
no its not! i only have £30 don't give me any more! and don't charge me for it!

    lets get moneysaving!
  • Absolutely matey. Well done on clearing your card. I felt so bad about owing my mum money she was one of the first things I paid off. Not very MSE I know but very good conscience wise for me.
The interest is a real scunner as far as I am concerned. I didnt even think about it before I came on here and now I grudge every penny I need to pay. I am determined that I will be paying nowt on the things I have bought recently. Again before MSE I would have said sod it I'll get it sorted after Christmas.x

  • I decided to pay of M&S in total. Am delighted it is gone. There may be a few pennies interest still to be paid but I will just clear them when the account comes in. Feels great. I have paid off 2 of my 3 debts for the challenge. Just credit union to pay now. I have nearly £800 to pay but I have £500 in savings in it so as soon as they match I will pay it off and I am going to do my damndest to get rid of it before Christmas to complete the challengs. Competitive ?? Moi?? Never hehe

    Hello mit

I have just finished reading your thread! Good luck to you.
I see you like home baking, are you anywhere near Dundee? If you are Julian Graves have good offers on their dried fruit, well they did the last time I visited.

  • My gawd you read the whole thread !!!! Must have taken ages.
Sorry am near Glasgow so you've had it as far as the baking goes. I used to bake years ago with my mum and then stopped. For years I would have sworn I couldn't cook and always went to the freezer shop etc but because I have started money saving I am cooking from scratch all the time and have surprised myself at how easy I am managing to make edible food. My kids want me to open a restaurant lol but I can assure you it is not that good. We have a Julian Graves nearby so I might take a wee run down this week. Thanks for that x
