Now, if I bought £28 worth of Thorntons for Christmas, I would have eaten it all by next week and would end up buying more at full price for the pressies :o

  • lol @ you two. I am not fussed on thorntons and not much of a drinker so its easy to keep these. Will need to hide the chocs form my kids though. Lost another 3 lbs today. Slimmer of the month :D . Really motivated for this diet lark at the mo. Bought the kids a chippy for their tea but because DD works there she gets a discount so was only £3 for their dinner :D (again). Spent £1.20 on juice... really need to stop this spend as it mounts up. Gave ds £1 for sweets today as he had a trip to go on and I had no goodies for his tuck. That's £5.20 away from my shopping budget already . Just remembered I bought 2 packs of breakfast bars at slimming club which is £2.50 so now up to £7.70  . I forgot how quickly this all adds up. Jeezo man!!

I have a 0% deal ending with Sony in November and I just can't get any new credit. Must be the credit crunch as I never had a problem befoe. I have even tried to increase my limits on my other cards but its a no go. So I have today transferred the balance of Barclaycard to Virgin. That'll cost me £18 or so but is 0% until June next year. When that goes through I will transfer as much as I can to Barclaycard as they are 6.9% L.O.B. That'll cost me about £30. Can't transfer SONY to Virgin as both MBNA cards  so will need to tholl the charges. That will leave me about £800 on Sony card. I am concentrating on paying anything extra I can until November as the interest will be horrific. So £800 in a month?? Aye right lol no chance!! Will be able to transfer some to my Halifax and then just bite the bullet and get the balance paid ASAP. Juggle, juggle. Good job I am so good at it :rotfl: . Going to have a wee look at the Boots grabbit as I have my sil birthday this month and she loves smellies etc and I need a bargain. Got £10 paid into account today from scratch card site and £7.80 expenses so have paid that off of Sony. That starts me off for the £5 per day as well.

Congratulations on the slimmer of the month award :T My head is not in "lose weight" mode at the moment - it will have to take a back seat for a while!

Grr to the 0% - I know how you feel, it is years since I was able to get a good deal despite not being in arrears or anything! I think it is just the high level of debt that goes against me. Typically, now my salary has gone up and my debt has gone down, I SHOULD be able to get a lower rate card, but because of the credit crunch I don't even think it is worth me applying!

  • i made the decision a few weeks ago to lose weight and I am on a mission now. Can't say it saves me money tbh as I buy better food and fruit is expensive just now and I eat loads of it. I went to see amotivational speaker ( think i mentioned him before) and he made me sit and question my reasons for wanting to lose weight. Did I want to? Was I doing it to fit in with the stereotype etc etc and the answer was yeah I wanted to and only for me and no other reason so I decided to get on with it and do it. It's great cos the last couple of days loads of folks have noticed the difference and I feel grand :D . Just need to apply the same principles to money saving now lol. Soent £99.30 tonight in ASDA on food  . Our cupbords fridge and freezer were absolutely empty though so it had to be done. Kids are off my case as there is something to eat and we all had a lovely dinner. Bought petrol £40 and spent £34 in Boots. Got 2 birthday pressies and will keep the free one ( 3for2) for a Christmas pressie for someone. I also put a tenner onto my card in ASDA for Christmas shopping. I'll have about £50 for Morrisons and hopefully a few pounds by then in ASDA. I have overspent again. I always do this when I get paid  . Haven't splurged except on food etc but it will all be eaten. Never mind I will hardly have to buy anything next week so that should even things out a bit. No money earned today except for clicks and scratchcards. No nsd's yet but early days. Hope you are all good x
