Gave in eventually. I was bl**dy starving! But all he got was soup:p
Well it's been a bad and good day in terms of money saving. I was on a training course in the city centre, and lunch wasn't provided so had to go out and buy that (note to self - check if I can claim it back on expenses - all £1.75!:rotfl: ). The course also finished early so I went on a window shopping expedition (do I never learn?). Two years ago I got some Calvin Klein Euphoria parfum gel in duty free, which finally ran out at christmas. After hunting high and low I was told it had been discontinued. On the off-chance when I was in Debenhams I took a stroll past the perfume stand - and there it was - one solitary box for £19.95. The spendaholic got the best of me and I took it to the till - to discover it was £9.97! So feel quite chuffed - and a ickle bit annoyed at the fact I spent at all. Of course once the ball was rolling it wouldn't stop and I ended up spending £1.50 on a vest top in Primark (sorry, exploited children, I know), because it's a perfect green colour and the next time I go to the hairdressers I'm taking it with me so I can say "See this green? - give me scary red hair to compliment this - not brown - RED!"
On the plus side, I finally asked for an overpayment on my catalogue to be returned, so that was £54 extra in the bank:D.
Hope everyone's had a good day x1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0 -
I think I would have succomed (sp) as well to the Calvin Klein. Just think a while back you probably wouldnt have cared if it cost twice as much.:j0

You're absolutely right Wendy, anything under £20 barely even registered on the radar. How times have changed. I'm now starting to worry that I'm becoming a bit of a scrooge :rotfl: . I'm hoping once I've filled the ISA and paid off the last of the CC I'll be able to strike a happy medium between not spending unneccesarily but not instantly worrying about how much something is going to end up costing if I'm invited out anywhere. Mind you, I'll still be saving in earnest for a house deposit so I can't be too complacent.1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0

Woohoo Red a nice wee bargain. I love a bargain.it makes me all happy
. I had a huge spend day today not, spent 20p on DS's breakfast club. We all had lunches form home so no more money spent. Yay!!
DD was picked for the Austria trip next year with the school. £620  . That's not including equipment or clothes or ski lessons  . Going to go onto freecycle and see if there's anything available before I end up paying a fortune for stuff. I have told her dad he will have to help pay for it but I wont hold my breath. My wee mum has already said she will pay half and I have until January to pay my part of it so should be easy enough to do.
4 sleeps until payday :j . I am desperate to get my total under the 40k again.
I am having writers block tonight trying to do my assignment so I have given up. Never again am I leaving it this late as I am slightly panicking now. Ok then I am in full panic mode. BUT at least I am not spending hehe.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hey MIT, how's the assignment going? In fact, scrap that, you don't have time to reply until it's completed:rotfl: .
£620 for a school trip to Austria! I think it was less than half that when I was at school. Okay, that may have been before air travel and we had to get there by donkey, but still....1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0 -
I am sooooooo upset. I was nearly finished my assignment, had hit the ground running when I came home, and just had my appendixes and a few words to lose and my comp crashed:eek: . Had I saved it? Had I f*ck!!!!!!!
I had hit a wall last night as well and couldnt write a thing. All came flowing out tonight just beautifully and 890 words gone. My brother has been here for 2 hours using all sorts of programmes to try and find it for me but no luck. I have bloody chest pain I am so stressed lol. Ridiculous really. Have come on here for a wee while and will then try and rewrite it. I have until Friday but need to go to the hospital tomorrow night to see my aunt (promised my mum I would take her) and thought I could use Thursday night for the finishing touches. Am gutted!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stoopid !!!!*ng computer. stoopid !!!!*ing me  .
Ok I spent the grand sum of 20p again today for DS's breakfast club so am doing well this week on the spends. Going to buy Norton for the computer though as my bro reckons I have virus activity already  . Oh I am away to read other posts and hopefully others are having a better night than me5 Year plan. Ouch, sorry to hear about the assignment MIT. Sometimes it's hard to belive computers are supposed to make our lives easier:rolleyes: . Your brothers probably right on the virus front, when OH set his dad up on the internet he didn't put any security on prior to connecting to the internet, thinking he'd have time to download some anti-virus software. Within a minute the computer was rendered just about unusable and he had to start from scratch, reloading windows, the lot! OH was not a happy bunny that night - and his dad's probably only been on the internet three times since:rolleyes:
Hope the rewrite goes more smoothly. x1st April 2008 challenge:mad: xmas overspend = [strike]£254.05[/strike] £0:j......cc1 = [strike]£240.78[/strike] £0:j .......cc2 = [strike]£667.47[/strike] £0 :j ...amount owed to ISA = [strike]£1599.90[/strike] £0:jTOTAL TO GO = [strike]£2762.20[/strike] £0 !!! DONE IT DONE IT DONE IT!!!:dance:0 -
Sorry MIT, Im trying to get in to the habit of saving every few minutes these days because I have lost hours of work before. Its so frustrating and like you said Im usually exhausted by the time its happens.
Hope it all goes smoothly today xx.:j0 -
Evening. Quick post tonight as I have been to the hospital to visit my aunt and want to try and finish this assignment tonight. Am saving my document nearly every second word lol. Am shattered today as was up until 1.30am last night and hten wakened until 3am panicking.
Bit of a spend today. There was a wee shop closing down and everything was 50p so I spent a fiver in there. Bought 2 tops for mothers day for my mum and a skirt in the sale for me. Had a subway and had 3 prescriptions to pay for . Got £11.65 into my account from Amazon so I have paid £13 from Argos. Am off and hopefully I will have more time soon to catch up. xx5 Year plan.
