Hi Melly Just got home . Just to be clear are you being assessed individually or jointly next Tuesday ? I am reading it as yours is separate from your husbands . I personally would phone them tomorrow morning and explain you will attend both re your claim and husbands as his appointee. If they want to see him still attend your own assessment . Tell them your husband has been unable to see his doctor which is urgent or attend the pip appeal due to high anxiety and complete meltdown . You and I know there is a reason for appointees - to allow a responsible person to act on anothers behalf when they are unfit to do so themselves .
Tell them about the outcome of the pip appeal and the enhanced level for both criteria . I assume the report from the panel is a hard copy . there's your evidence !!!
Back later love - tired and hungry

Sorry Melly forgot to say by all means try for a home assessment when you phone but it's not easy to get .

The job centre is separate appointments for us both cos it's been over 6 months.
The assessment is me, I was advised to claim esa for me with OH added to my claim as.I was able to get some paid cos I had paid national insurance.
They are both in seperate locations (assessment centre where we went for OHS PIP assessment difficult to get too)
Obviously it's going to change from a pathetic £114.85 a week of which I currently get £109 for both of us. To more and less justification (income support and carers allowance).
I basically need to stall till the start of October when the ability for a PIP apeal from the DWP is over and it's paid.0 -
Melly I think it will be difficult to stall it that long . The backlogs to deal with claims seem to have lessened a great deal . Would it be possible to contact the guy who helped with the appeal ? Is he a benefits advisor ? I would be inclined to try to get hold of him tomorrow morning as he has the knowledge you need . Deferral could lead to complications . Are you worse off at the moment than you were ? I don't know how long it is until the pip is payable . It may be an idea to post your present income either here or on the benefits board and also when the pip becomes payable . No pressure love it is your business but there are people who may be able to advise .

£109 is our current income a week Pol.
Rent and ct are paid
Bills not including rent and ct are £300 a month (have utility arrears that I'm currently teying to get reduced due to OHS disabilities)
PIP should be paid within 4-6 weeks it's £139.40 a week (enhanced both)
Once it's paid I can claim carers allowance of £62 a week
And income support top up of £82. As you see HUUUUGE difference and means we can animule feed whereas now I am constantly juggling.0 -
Melly what do you think of the idea of getting advice about the assessments ? the fact that you and your husband had a doctors appointment and the following day the pip appeal and are now both expected to attend two different centres on the same day is not allowing the time to deal with getting some help for your husband . If you can't leave him alone while you try to fit both in next Tuesday then some allowance should be made for that fact - you can't do the impossible so I would spell that out clearly and see if you can get advice tomorrow to allow you to ask for home visits with a good idea of how good a case you have to expect it under the circumstances .

Think seeing my advisor is a good plan
Will do I the morning
I can't do both they are close together and different sides of the city.
OH won't cope that long he was a wreck Tuesday still have fall out (sleeping lots, depressed)
I have no chance of getting him out, he's in agony with his tooth he won't go to the dental hospital, so getting him to 2 appointment's meaning we will be out for 4 or so hours er no0 -
Definite yes on the advisor . The dwp stuff is overwhelming both of you and there will be a way to do it in sensible way but I don't have the facts on how to do so so can't advise you , rules keep changing and welfare advisors have the up to date information .
Hope you get to speak to someone tomorrow as it is better to contact esa this week as Monday is their busiest phone day and your appointments are Tuesday
Night night .
Like yourself I'll be glad when the weekend comes been a long week .
Doctors again tomorrow then hopefully two days of relative peace .
See you tomorrow , try and get to bed or I'll shout at you - which believe me is worse than my nagging :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's the cats that have crippled me Pol.
And things like Tuesday where I have to find £4.60 which is in no way a fortune but is a 12 pack of cat food (little sods will only eat Felix as good as it looks, flavoured jelly, veg and the one with ham in)
I have always bulk cooked and padded. (Been running a house since I was 8) dogs eat CSJ food so cost me £26 including postage every 5 months.
Cats are currently £22 a week including litter and biscuits.
Boos no ake is £13.50 every 3 months (helps with his knees).
Plus OH has done things like spent money put into his account for safekeeping on ebay (books etc) it's why MIND think he could be manic (I think it's OCD related they are all related to current obessession)
I was also stupid, I knew we should get it reinstated and in my head it's an instant thing not will take 6 weeks, so I sort of bought some lumber support stools for OH.
Right sleep hopefully (if boo stops looking for girls) tomorrow I have a lot to do.0
