Not bringing T here at all would be the easy option. Rehoming would hurt sometimes it's the right option though, is it in this case?
If I can't keep them completely separate until OH has calmed down enough following the last 12 months then yes it is, as the alternative I saw yesterday involves a dead cat.
JR'S work as pack and my two were operating as a pack, one with a very strong prey drive, T was being a well adjusted but former brawler, had I not been in it would have led to one dead cat as that's what the dogs were doing (separating off to corner and kill if you have ever seen working jacks kill that's what they were doing).
Does this make my dogs nasty, no it makes them jack russells, T nasty, no he's being a former top cat are the two compatible, juries out.
Do I feel giving OH the responsibility of ensuring they are completely separate in a very small space whilst I am at work? Usually yes, right now, no he will not forgive himself (or me, passing the blame along is something he was taught from a young age) if our dogs kill his mum's cat.
Does this mean T is being rehomed, not if I can help it but if I have too, yes and I will be upset but I won't feel guilty. I need to try and make sure everyone, and that includes my dogs is settled. Currently I am in a single room with the dogs that formally had the run of the place, or a single room with a cat not giving OH the support he needs.0 -
Cannabidoil was recommended on another thread so I ordered OH some (am at the stage that ANYTHING that promises to help with anxiety and stress is something I will get him)
He seems a lot calmer
Has even made jokes
So woohoo I have my husband back may not be forever but yay.
Now what can I get to make my girl less jack russelly?
I have a solicitor meeting followed by a housing meeting on Monday. My opinion of upstairs was ok even when she got her mum to ask if the noise complaints were because they are black.
It was ok right up until they kept blocking OH in when he had to get his mum, despite knowing the situation now not so good, coupled with having to help OH in and out of the bath so he could shower bit difficult with an attack of hemiplegia lol.0 -
