Evening!
Been out most of day, had a nice picnic and run around in parkland. Did DS homework with him, which was fun (no I'm not being sarcastic :rotfl:). Bit more laundry tackled. All school clothes and bags are ready to go.
MIL is here as I'm working really early tomorrow. I've checked my emails as the announcement was last week about our jobs. My boss never got in touch, on my phone or the work one, he hasn't emailed me or anythingbut luckily I'm still on the structure chart - in my current role. I will give him some stick in the morning about not confirming to me.
Right, I'm taking DD back to bed (this is what happens when she falls asleep on the way home...) hope she's not too grumpy in the morning.Bossymoo

Lost the booklet of Tesc0 vouchers which arrived this week, have turned the house and car upside down looking for them but to no avail.
I wonder if they're hiding beside your chequebook, Valli?!

In the end I did a bit of flying last week despite everything. Ate a frog and generally tidied up some surfaces, did some wiping etc. Sadly didn't get around to hoovering but that is next on my list after I have done my work for bad-work.
I did start painting the kitchen chairs - 1 down and 5 to go. All washing done and dried and some work tops/units cleaned.

Hi to all.
Getting back to 'normal' tomorrow after a week (2 for me) at home with OH who puts me to shame with the amount of flying he does in the garden and house. We've had a good week but having another person around makes me eat too much, not to mention Easter eggs. I look forward to getting back to normal eating and building up the gym routine with a vengeance.
Good luck to those starting slimmer's world; I'll just be "eating less, moving more" (Billy Connelly diet). Plans for this week:
- write up assessment from last week
- get ready for assessment on Saturday
- get student paperwork sorted for uni on Wed/Thurs/Fri
- renewed/continued attempt to sort out home office and paperwork
- lounge, hall ok for this week but need to finish bedroom and bathroom flying
- continue with garden.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

Mumto5, you can find the NIgella chocolate orange cake recipe here . I only use 200g sugar and that is plenty sweet enough for us. Its very good served warm with ice cream

Thank you xDustykitten wrote: »I've done 30,000 in the last 9 days!.
Excellent inspiration!
I'm regretting all the good drying weather. I have an enormous pile of ironing to do tomorrow!
Why is BBC 2 repeating the same programme night after night? I know I've had a glass of wine but I'm not imagining things!
It must be bedtime. I have set 3 alarms to get the younger kids up. They have had 2 weeks of centreparcs and playing outside. They are bronzed and happy. I can't wait for half term even with the spectre of DS2's GC5e's looming. I love having the kids off school.0 -

Smashing, thanks for that! I logged in and had a quick look but they wanted me to verify my Clubcard details and my bag was all the way over there *points to the end of the bed* and I just C(ouldn't)BA. I have a £4 off £40 spend there, and a £9 off £60 at Sainsbobs (both in store) which I'll use tomorrow, and will look at online delivery for next week0 -
Actually got thanked by DS3. (Jaw dropping on the floor).
My middle baby is 27 tomorrow and I still don't know where the time went and DS3 is 24 on Thursday.
Yes in theory DS3 could make his own bed but he has always been a law unto himself and he wouldn't.
I did fine with the first two, would give them so long to tidy their toys then went in with the big black bag. Broken bits would be binned, some sent to cs, others would be returned as a reward for good behaviour. DS3 no - it could all go to the charity shop. He could fall asleep in the middle of getting dressed and nearly cried when the shops no longer had velcro shoes in his size (I think he was 11) as he could never learn to tie his shoe laces. The clocks in our house were set 5 minutes fast so that when everyone got to the front door, we had time to find DS3's shoes, reading book etc which were inevitably missing. He had friends who would tidy his room for him, as they were desperate to be allowed in to play.
None of my sons could keep their bedding on their beds (don't know if it was this thread or another where someone else despaired of their child - for years I thought I was the only one). Day after day I stuffed duvets back into covers only for them to mysteriously separate in the night. Ironically DS3 is rather good with duvet covers after years of watching me standing on the bed holding the top of the quilt and cover and telling him to pull down the bottom bit. Just scraping under door frames these days, with a wing span to match he can do duvets single handed and he's very obliging about changing light bulbs (no ladders required).
He would prefer that I never went into his room and left to his own devices would prefer to sleep without sheets, covers or pillowcases. I have tried various tacks over the years, most recently playing on his desire to live with gf - must do his share or gf will not be able to achieve things she wants to do. He is now allowed one pillow (a very old one) without a pillowcase, everything else must be covered. Things seem to be getting better - I did all his clothes before Christmas and they are all still in the wardrobe and I painted his room in 2 stages this year and once the surface clutter is removed, underneath is okay.
He is trying to develop a career as a games designer, he has made 6 or 7 in the past 18 months (alongside being a full time student), taught himself all the programming from scratch (wanted to know why no-one ever told him how much fun algebra could be when he was at school) and is usually awake all night working and talking to others all over the world, so he gets annoyed if I go in just after he has gone to sleep. Not made a lot of money but its better than relying on benefits - his gf has only just got a job after 2 years of trying and it is only a job (low-paid, insecure, manager who constantly makes inappropriate personal comments). So given graduate employment prospects and opportunities round here, I am encouraging him to keep plugging away.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
