I've just taught Ds1 how to make cheese sauce, I've left him to it. He has a tendency to just wander off and leave things when he's cooking so the pan might be very interesting by the time he's finished.0

Mumto5, you can find the NIgella chocolate orange cake recipe here . I only use 200g sugar and that is plenty sweet enough for us. Its very good served warm with ice cream
I think we'll have a slice of it with a cup of tea this afternoon (but no ice cream) - I cut up what was left over from the meal and froze it, otherwise it would have all gone the next day
This morning I have dug over 2 borders, removed 3 trugs full of stones and spread about 1/4 ton of topsoil. I need to deliver leaflets after lunch.0 -
JTTOU, I need a minimum of HHC in kitchen and dining room.....running to catch you up.

I have cleaned the living room - properly inc. moving sofas and dusting the electricals.
Dinner has been served and munched; DD's off to work shortly so will need a lift.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

500 emails deleted. I'm aiming for 3000 by the end of the week.
I've done 30,000 in the last 9 days!
I've done a good hour out the front, DS1 helped with the edging. Just bit of planting to do out there and edging the rest of the lawns, for another day as it is hard work. I may sow some seeds in pots later.
For now a cuppa and move a button on DS3's shorts to tighten the waist. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Hi all (and a late Happy Easter)
I went awol for a week. Long story that I wont bore you with, except to say that everything got on top of me a bit. Really struggling to juggle everything at the moment.
But I am here, ready to do my best in true flylady fashion. Need to be very organised at the moment, every minute is precious.
Have munched a big paperwork frog today and done loads of washing. A few bits need ironing so I will do that before the day is out. Tea in sc. DS not back to school until Wednesday then he has internal exams so I need to help him prepare for them or he will do nothing.
Enjoy the rest of the bh all.0 -
Pillows and first lot of washing all out on line - hope pillowcases will dry quickly. Biggest quilt is also out there - sprayed it and will leave out as long as necessary. It's too big for the wm, I'm not fit enough to do it in the bath (treading grapes method) and it isn't worth paying for it to be dry cleaned - the stuffing is coming out at one end, the channel seams are splitting, the only reason we still have it is because I'm not buying him another one to wreck.
Changed tack on the small quilts, going to wash them both. DS3 and gf can use the one his friend was using and then I will switch round again on Saturday when gf goes home and friend comes back.
Trying to get more done this week by alternating standing and sitting jobs so have chopped and peeled mountains of parsnips, carrots and sprouts, sliced up the leg of lamb, shuffled the fridge (separated 3 smoked mackerel and frozen individually, same with value chicken tikka slices and red cabbage), cleared all kitchen surfaces and several loads of rubbish/ peelings to appropriate bins.
Moved stuff to lift the mattress that was on the floor and the rest wasn't too bad. Swept and mopped all the floor but tired and have a couple of aches (not pain) so going to prioritise what I need to do -not going to move the bed:rotfl:. Need to make the bed up and put the bins out. DS3 is going for a birthday meal with friends next Saturday and will be out for about 12 hours so bed moving, wiping window frame, painting behind headboard and anything else (bedside cabinets , towers of carp:eek::eek:, interspersed with cables) in there can be left till then.
Will wipe kitchen worktops later if feeling okay but as they will have eaten when they come in, it can be left till tomorrow - better to wipe over bathroom bits. Another load for wm later and plan cooking to be done this week. DS3 has taken another shopping bag - emptied contents into a box so can go through that to see what can be chucked.
Happy flying everyone - but remember it's supposed to be a holiday:rotfl:.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
