  • Hi everyone.
Weigh in complete - aaagh!!! Big Al*i healthy shop also complete and put away. Very happy that can make our usual meals healthier and stay on plan.

So far today - whilst out of the house have done 8690 steps!!! That is the most I have ever done due to previous sedentary job and health reasons. Now going to have a coffee and put pedometer back on whilst I start some flying - never been so late!!!

Must try harder to get "a" into gear first thing!!! Hope the weather cheers up as I have gardening to finish as well.

    See you all tomorrow.

Ironing all done, save for the 6 pillowcases from our bed as I ran out of steam, literally and figuratively :rotfl:

Just about to empty the WM and chuck it at the airer, tidy the lounge and shove the vac around, boss DD into picking up all the stuff from the floor of their PIT and have a quick S&S of the kitchen.

Sounds like a HHC to me! Ready, set… GO!

You can buy proprietary descalers from the supermarket, but white vinegar does just as good a job for a fraction of the price. Just pour it in the kettle to cover the scale and leave it overnight. If you are impatient like me, you can try switching the kettle on and heating the vinegar (don't boil it though!) and leave it to cool. When you pour it out, the kettle should be spotless. Fill with water, boil and pour it down the sink to get rid of any vinegary tastes before you make a brew.

Although it works well, I find it very stinky (especially if you heat the vinegar, peeee-yeeeew! _pale_) so I now use citric acid crystals to do mine. One teaspoon dissolved in enough water to cover the scale, heat and follow as above. Works brilliantly and doesn't smell at all. You can get citric acid from places that sell home brewing kit, the little pot I have is a few years old and I've only used about half; think it cost me a quid so very :money:

Ironing away, as it the board and the steam gen. Kitchen tidied, warring skids separated, lounge reset back to tidy, step skids repatriated, airer filled, another half load bunged in the WM waiting for tonight's cast offs. Coffee and ciggie decluttered, just the vac to go I think.

Oh never tried citric acid as a descaller, I have some for making cordial. Get mine at the pharmacy and they ask what you want it for as it has other less legal uses).

Not achieved as much this afternoon but getting some fiddly bits and bobs done, I'll update my list once I've done a couple more bits.

Cleaned wash basin, put away clothes and worked through a pile of paperwork in the middle of the night (couldn't sleep).

Put 2 small washed quilts onto line first thing (well finally slept from 5am to 10am, so first thing after that). Since cleaned bath, put cheap cola down both toilets, washed bathmats, brought clean bathmats, clothes and pillows back upstairs and multiple other jobs.

Some progress but not too organised as there was quite a lot of carrying up and down - noticed toilet roll in downstairs loo had been used when I did the cola, so took a pile of stuff up, retrieved remaining toilet rolls (added onto shopping list next time I passed it), did mini-sort of cupboard holding toilet rolls (clean flannels put away as well), remember to go to part-painted bedroom for rag bag (needed for kitchen cleaning but dropped a few off in the bathroom as well).

So maybe not so much to cross off list but lots of little improvements which will help in the long run. Run out of steam but hope to do a bit more later - collected mse old-style book, cranks recipe book and pilates book from downstairs so I am not resting, it's research. Continually striving to improve:rotfl:
