I've always found (having the same problem, and previously working fitting them) that the art is finding a shape that suits you - and you won't know this until you try them on.

In my case the problem is the fact I have a large front and small back size, hence the underwiring doesn't sit right as I don't have a gap in the middle between them. I find the ones from Next to be fantastic as they don't have such a large distance between the wires at the front.

If you have a bravissimo shop near you, they are great for fitting and because they stock lots of different types, you can try on ones other than a stores own brand.

I found the fitting advice on this site helpful http://www.bravissimo.com/perfectfit/wrong-size-bra/default.aspx

Its not always that you have to go up a back size. In my case I thought I had to go up a back size while in fact I had to go down a back size and up a cup size to get the correct fit. This removed a gapping problem which I thought meant the bra was too big not too small!

The other best advice I can give is to try on different makes as well as different sizes. Bras made in different countries tend to be sized slightly differently as well apparently - American bra makes are sized more generously than French bra makes and British is somewhere in the middle of the two.
I live in my own little world. But it's okay. They know me here.

Agreeing with celyn. I forgot that bit and was posting as she was. Shape is important as well. I found a t-shirt bra fitted my shape best but for others it may be different.

Hi, I am an F cup so I know exactly what you mean. I've tried the expensive bras from M&s and Debenhams etc. The m&s ones are ok but I tell you what. I was in George in ASDA recently and they do a Katie Price (Jordan) range of big girls bras and also a very good ASDA own brand.

I was a bit 'hmmn, not keen on own brands, but let's try it on anyway'. for £6 the ASDA own one beat the well known more expensive ones hands down (or boobs down)!

try a FREYA bra - they are the most comforable bra i have EVER worn , a little expensive at about £30 - 35 , but are well worth every penny - i would never buy another brand, it sounds stupid but they kind of changed my life, uncomfortable bra's really ruin your day !

  • Anyone know where I can get really big tent sized bras as bravissimo do a larger cup size (up to 40j quite frankly is you are that small round the middle with a cup size that big there are some interesting ways of earning money!) but I am a fat bird with a large bust and even Evans rarely have my size. Any suggestions gratefully received.
    Loving the dtd thread. x

I have problems too, and I find different manufacturers have different fit too. Its a case of trial and error.

Go to Bravissimo... let them fit you because it is more complex than physical size etc... they can advise you on both the right size, how to see if it fits well and shape that will suit you.
I went from a 34FF to 32GG/H - tiiiiiiny difference ;) And it's made a huge difference in my back and posture too :)

  • Debenhams Gorgeous T shirt Bras are nice and comfy and dont have loads of trim that looks odd through your clothes... The best ones are about £16 and have a double layer of material in the cups - cottony stuff on the inside, and satiny on the outside - they do some slighty cheaper ones (pften in packs of two and I bought a pack thinking they would be the same - big mistake, they are not!!

They also have enough strength to hold even the most unruly bosom in place!!!:rotfl:

Bravissimo really is the place to go. I travel from Bristol to Cardiff and it's worth all the time and effort to get there.
And MrsTine I also changed quite dramatically, from an M&S measured 38F to a Bravissimo measured 32HH! I couldn't believe the difference and before getting pregnant would often be found spending £70ish every few months on some gorgeous bras and knickers.
