mop and 2 buckets here - one with soapy water and one with clean. J clothy mop head. The room is 6m x 4m so I am not doing that on my hands and knees - we have 2 big mud loving dogs so it does need doing regularly as this is their entry point from the garden

I use a mop and bucket as all my downstairs except from hallway is hard floors. The bathroom is tiny so I quite often do that with a cloth on my knees aft cleaning the sink.

Mop bucket, and, surprising ly few of us....

Hands and knees when I am able to occasionally.

Nothing cleans like getting down there for me, I see more, its a good opportunity to do skirtings....

I HATE wipes and disposable products immensely. They are expensive and create unnecessary waste. I also don't believe they do most jobs as well.

Mop and bucket for me. IMO, those flat things with disposable heads/cloths were invented by companies who realised that it was more profitable to sell you something expensive that you had to replace every use than re-using a simple mop.

I have heard good things about steam mops, my friend managed to get her floor sparkling with them and it was old liino.

Just changed to steam mop, because it dries more quickly. I do like very hot water, bleach and a mop though.

Hate those squeeze one which leave stripes.

I use mop and bucket too. A spray of Flash or Mr Muscle, bit of hot water and the floor comes up lovely.
  • I've wondered about a steam mop, especially with a view to cleaning carpets and upholstery. I've read good reports of them.
  • Me. Well, 'use' is probably too strong a word

Nightly mop and bucket, I have a dog so it's nice to come down to a clean kitchen floor. Once a week I mop the skirting boards, then the bathroom floor, then the kitchen. When the kitchen is getting a thorough clean then I get down on my hands and knees to it. I have a steam cleaner but it's a faff to get it out, heat it up etc., when I can just add boiling hot water to some w/u liquid in a bucket.
