I take it they don't read the Dundee Courier?

This thread takes the biscuit as the stupidest outcome in 2014. I am being honest. Some people have more money than sense, sorry, this is shockingly daft.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Just a wee update:
The man from Gordon & Noble did such a good job in putting the frighteners on my family member that they decided to pay the charge. I can hear you all shouting NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO as I write this.
They were scared of being taken to court etc etc. Although they had read all the advice on here, the nagging doubt was "what if I am the first one to be taken to court in Scotland"? "What if it does affect my credit rating and I can't get a mortgage". They then had a letter to collect from the post office, it was a letter with no stamp on and they had to pay £1.53 for the pleasure! Yes..........it was from Gordon and Noble.

I was going to say I don't know how they get away with this kind of practice, but now I do. I'm tempted to go to the car park where this originally took place, doing the same thing and wait for the confetti to come through the door. I'm a grumpy, cynical old woman and love a challenge!

I can understand exactly where redrose family member is coming from. I got a UKPC ticket on Saturday and it has been scaring me ever since. I have no intenetion of paying it, but I will be on here everyday checking that the laws in Northern Ireland (where I come from ) havent changed. So just for a confidence boost. I ignore, ignore, ignore?

P.S. Thanks everyone for your expert advice.:T

As you are from NI, I have quoted the only part of your post that is relevant. ;)

PS - it's not good form to hijack somebody's thread.

You don't need to check every day, law changes have lead times of months or years, they don't arrive out of the blue!

And they are very, very rarely retrospective i.e. a law change (if there were one pending, which there isn't) wouldn't apply to your case anyway.

As Bazster said, also if indeed there was a law change, it would not be retrospective, you can not break a law or a rule before it exists! ;)
  • Got my 8th letter today for no ticket in Gallagher park Dundee.
Last one had no stamp the cheeky blighters. I did not accept.
Today's offering is indeed now the standard Gordon @ noble nasty offering.
I hope they do manage to find my phone number as I am looking forward to the exchange.

  • Hi, new to the forum.

i too have recently received numerous phone calls from g&b, to name and shame the individual he is called mr jim brown, a c*nt of a man to speak to. tried to be aggressive with me. i told him the law, he said he would see me in court. i told him to bring it on.

great to see so many other people receiving calls from this c*nt and that we stick together.

I agree that this company appears to be trying to make people think that they are acting on court decisions. But can you edit out this person's name before mse do it for you, they take a very dim view in naming and shaming I'm afraid.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.
