I think as long as everyone's comfortable then there's no problem. Until recently we only had one bathroom in the house and I never saw the need to cover up if needed the loo in the night. Also kids always seemed to need the loo just after hubby or I had got in the bath and so we'd sigh wearily and let them in to do their business. Now we've got our own en-suite so I might actually have a bit of privacy for my shower, which will be a novelty...

I'm sure I saw the other morning on BBC breakfast a piece with a lady from a children's charity (possibly the NSPCC and its PANTS campaign) and she was asked about this and gave the advice most people on here have- perfectly natural and normal for your children to see you naked and the age to stop is when they're no longer comfortable with it

My dad was always walking round naked (three daughters) but stopped at some point which thinking back must have been when the eldest got to the self conscious age. Although once on holiday she went for a walk with my parents to apparently a nudist beach as dad dropped his shorts, gave his watch to mum and trotted off into the water, sister was absolutely mortified lol

Have you asked your sister how she felt (if she can remember) by your father's nudity when she was 9? As a same sex child and being younger, it was probably different for you, but she may well have been conscious or embarassed. I think your wife's suggestion is good, although that gives you several years not months. I read an article about parents in your situation, where it was suggested that they start to cover up (with children of the opposite sex) once the child starts school - not sure what the logic was behind this.
We were discussing this at a swim recently: when boys start talking about seeing naked women, and one of them says "I've seen my mum and sister lots of times, we often don't wear clothes at home" and gets laughed at and told he's silly, that can be an issue.

This may be the answer. I know people who don't have any problem with nudity but wince at the idea of naked bottoms on the furniture for hygiene reasons.
That's what towels are for ...
