you have made a couple of posts in this topic which are exactly what i was worrying about when she grows up.
I don't want people to think i am being perverted or worse when i am only being natural (or natural as i see it)
It's very sad that parents have to think of protecting themselves from accusations over something as natural as children seeing a parent's body.0 -
I would be interested to see stats on how many parents got a visit from SS dye to a kids saying tgey saw a parent naked. I would guess the number is close to nil.I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

Linking this to the posting on hair removal .....would this make any different to anyone?0

I think that people should neither, ensure that they never appear nude in front of their children, or flaunt their nudity. We are after all born naked.0

Not to me. My 3 & 4yr old boys have seen both me and OH wandering naked between bedroom and bathroom while getting ready in the mornings, and have seen us hairy, trimmed, bald or whatever, depending on the 'state' we have chosen at that time, and they just remark 'oh, no hair today mummy', or something along those lines.
Yes they asked questions when they first saw the hair situation was different to the last time they saw it, so I explained that it's like the hair on your head, you can have it however you like, grow it, have it quite short, have none at all etc, and they were not bothered about it again.0 -
my LOs are 7 boy and 4 girl i am a wander around with nothing on (esp monday mornings with the run to the tumble dryer lol) we all sleep naked both kids still jump in the bath with opposite sex parents my daughter wont keep clothes on if you pay her she gets in from nursery and strips off at the front door i think my kids have seen most of the family with nothing on (on both sides) the only one who really covers up is my (recent) step mum
my son has recently started asking for baths on his own and he loves them but will still jump in with his sister or either of us when he feels like
it
both our families are the same so me and hubby both grew up with it im not exactly a model (size 20 ish stretch marks boobs down to my knees etc) but hubby is tall and slim both kids have our body shapes my son wont chunk out he just keeps growing where as daughter is shorter and chunkier
my daughter said at nursery that she saw mummys mimi as when she was in the shower but daddy hasnt got a mimi hes got a willy like her brother and the nursery thought it was a positive sign of her identifying genders rather than anything sinister the only time the kids are not allowed around hubby is first thing when he wakes up but after about 5 minutes its fineThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
I walk around naked, and yes the bathroom with the door open, all three if my children ( 16,11 and 9) walk in and chat to me in the bath, or when I'm getting changed! My husband started to cover up and shut the door when the children were about 6/7 although our son sits on the loo and chats to him when he's in the bath! We're not nudist, but not prudish either. We always wanted our children to feel body confident so have never been overly worried about covering up!0

I don't think there is a set age, I think it depends on the child and family environment. I am a very private person and my sons haven't seen me naked for years. I discouraged them from trying to walk in on me, whilst I was using the toilet or in the bath from a very early age. They accepted it without issue. At 8 and 11 they have a healthy confidence about their bodies and respect their own and other peoples privacy. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

judging by my own kids - its when they clap their hands over their eyes and scream 'OMG - get some clothes on'! that is the age when its inappropriate.
and all kids are different. so I really couldn't pinpoint an 'age' for you. except when you have their friends for sleepovers - then its not advisable to wander round in the nude. we always wore 'something' in those situations when leaving our own bedroom.0 -
But how would they know that it was only seeing unless they made further enquiries?
I think it's a shame that the only naked/semi-naked bodies most children see are the air-brushed pictures of models and celebrities in the press, on television and advertisements.
However, it only needs one child to say to another that she saw Daddy's willy for alarm bells to start ringing with other parents and teachers. It's the sad position we are in now that many cases of abuse are missed because the offenders are manipulative enough to make sure their victims don't talk while innocent parents can get investigated through something as innocent as seeing a parent in the bath.
Is this based on anything?0
