Chrisv or anyone else, please can you explain the chappati thing to me? What do they look like and what do they initially cost? Forgive me, I have read through the posts and the explanations but as usual, they have gone over my head. Please and thanks in advance.
Try this link I can only see it signed out so my store doesn't sell it http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/asda-compare-prices/Indian_Cuisine/ASDA_Chapatti_400g.html0 -

Bilge alert!!
Inspired by the song in the Eastenders trailer before the news on BBC ONE, I thought I recognised the song, of which this is the 'proper' version:D:

Gawd, that one on the TV was such a dirge (with apologies no doubt to those who like it, no really!:rotfl:) but I've Googled around (on youtube) and it sounds like this is the same one as the above link:

Lol - it says "speed up a bit". Speed up? That's (the 'sped up' version) the slowest acceptable version to me, quite a normal and sleepy tune whilst the 'slowed' (or original) version, or non-"speeded up a bit", however, you term it, is quite plain and impossible, boring for me to get through. Can you speed up the "sped-up" version please? It's alright but a nice sleepy tune, could do with being a bit more normal, thanks! I've had a look around and don't seem to have been able to find quicker ones than that 'sped-up' quite slow one, but I'll settle for that. I could have really fallen asleep on BBC ONE though!:rotfl::D0 -

I must admit I'm already getting a little frustrated with my (adult) children who tease me mercilessly about my attempts to shop the Elite way and refuse to try it themselves, yet they seem to think that anything I've managed to get on glitches (e.g. burgers, pork chops, pop and wine) is so cheap (and easily procured) I will be happy to give lots to them.
Obviously I am very happy and willing to share things with family and friends and I'd love to be in a position where I have more than we want/need so can give loads away. However, they just don't get it that the main reason I'm taking all this time and eff
rt is to try and cut down on our shopping bill and save money.
For example, I managed to get 18 lots of burgers (which from memory I think ended up costing me about £1.50 per pack + fillers, time, effort, petrol etc) and I intended to use these for mince dishes over the next couple of months. However, I've already donated more than half of them to my children when
they've said things like, "Mum, you know those cheap burgers you've got
freezer, please can we have some for a BBQ we're going to?" They think that because I've paid so little for them they are 'freebies'. I know my children would never have asked me for food if they thought I'd paid full price for it and I'd feel really mean if I refused when they (and I) know I've paid so little for them!
I've suddenly realised that, having given half of them away, those £1.50 per pack
burgers I sweated blood and tears over (not to mention risking trouting) have actually cost me double that now (albeit I've had the pleasure of giving great
meat to my children too)! I guess the lesson is for me to keep shtumm
regarding my glitched bargains and then, when I do give them away, everyone
will be overwhelmed by my generosity!:D:D:D
When you first start glitching there is a tendency to give things to our kids but I decided at christmas I had set mine up enough and that they would still be welcome to rummage through my stash but unless I had got it free or for pennies they would have to pay a donation. They are more than happy to pay £1 an item as this covers the expensive things as well as cheaper ones. My kids do not take the p1ss and are happý to pay. My dd did all her xmas shopping from my
stashes which included BS stuff as well as mr shoes and wine.
They have to realise that it takes time and effort to glitch and stash.
They also know if something is praçtically free I will go out of my way to stock them up. Things like coke at xmas and the recent pop ģlitch for examplè.
This also helps me put by cash ready to hit the next glitch sort of like a second purse.
Of course the kids are still not covering the cost on some things but I really respected that they pay a bit towards it all.
Think their favourites now are the 1p items.
Thìs leaves me free to decide when I want to treat them glitch wise. Nappies I will always hammer at no cost to them and I frequently post little treats to them.
At the end of the day if you tell them too much they will know what their birthday and xmas presents cost.

I push myself so hard to do them though Chris to make a better life for my 2 ds. As I can't work and never had any benefits I see this money saving thing as my contribution to my family finances. My oh works long hours self employed but the pay is rubbish. The money I save on shopping can be spent on other things we need or saved for our future xx
It really isn't worth stressing or getting ill over. We have next to no income. OH has a pension, I get odd bits and pieces from work when I can do it. We live mostly from savings that we've managed to gather over the years.
I used to feel very annoyed that I was having to use my savings to live onand then I realised that's exactly why I had savings in the first place! After having a blast as a youngster I adapted my Dads rainy day attitude........and unfortunately my rainy day came
I have read all the views on benefits etc with interest today but it's not something I like to give my view on. Everyone's situation is different.
I certainly would be spending a lot more of my savings if it wasn't for being here. We manage to maintain a pretty good standard of living despite our circumstances0 -

'Somewhere' in the fridges, but not really with most meals in mine, will have to look closer at whats in the same isle. As I hadn't found them but could see them when logged in to my A's, I first got them on a C&C. For anyone getting these, please note the pre-cooking instructions as discussed on here, but not on packaging. Something along the lines of carefully remove from foil tray without spilling all over worktop, grease tray, place back in, cover with foil, then cook. If you don't, they stick like glue to the tray.
