If so take the total pay on the P60 then you deduct £100 per week for the number of weeks in maternity pay in that tax year eg 18 weeks maternity pay would be £1800
Thank you. Yes her pay is more than £100 so would i just take the gross figure or the one minus deductions and then subtract the £1800? this is all so complicated ha!0 -

I have no idea how this renewal thing works
Also should I have been sent a p60 or something? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Your employer is required to provide a P60 by the end of May.
Hi blondebubbles how do you know which category you fall into with the renewals dates?0 -

I guess this is so the overpay is not too much.
I am wise to this now and make a note of when payments change before new award has gone through.
Might help others though.
Worth a repeat of this as the same query keeps coming up.Back on the trains again!0 -

Few weeks left of May but will remember to chase up employers
Thanks for the helpfeeling a bit less worried for now!
One more question you might be able to help with, I think I should have received an nhs exemption cert but moved house and never got it. Do they send one out each year? I should have chased it up but I've been a bit lax and haven't yetThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
ours was renewed on the 6th of may ( automatically ) because when i gave them my husband wage figure last year ( june 2013 ) they had put my husband wage figure in the benefits in kind section and not in the wages section by accident , so when it came round to doing the provisional payments for 2014/15 , before i renew when i get our renewal package ( which we still have not received yet ) they added together both , they added the benefit in kind ( which should of been wages ) and the estimated wage tax credits think what my husband may have earned for 2013/14 . very confusing and im confused . anyway they had added both figures together and they thought that my husband had earned a wage plus received a benefits in kind as well , making our income double to what it was , lowing our tax credits and causing us a overpayment . the lady has amended it and recalculated it with our actual income for 2013/14 , which we will have to redo when the renewal package arrives .0

It's surprising how often a mistake their end is to blame for a sudden decrease in payments.0 -

the form they are referring to may be your annual declaration and its when you receive that that you can make ammendments to your income with regards to your Mat Pay. As for your partners income being different, that can also be challenged although you may need to provide evidence of his P60 as the info they receive is direct from the employers tax returns.
