Fail to stop, is it worth reporting

 deal with it
Thanks moaninggit for your amazingly useless post. Your sympathetic 'deal with it' response is just what I have now come to expect from the embarrassment of a community MSE Forums now appear to harbor. We have already established that the van driver did not need to stop several posts back, maybe if you could read through, you wouldn't waste thread space with that useless post, which I can only assume is why you are called moaninggit? I have got some much more suitable words for people like you, but can't mention them on here.0

You drove into a kerb and damaged your car and you want to report someone else for the damage?
It's not his fault that you moved over too far. You need to anticipate the road better. Perhaps slow down a bit if you find it difficult to start with.
NO ONCE AGAIN, READ THE OP. Flaming hell how hard is it? I don't want to report anyone, it was suggested to me by the police officer I spoke to that I should do. I wasn't so sure, so created this thread.
I am staggered by the number of people who appear to sign in on here and post responses without checking their facts and reading what is before them. After watching the video I have to say you should have slowed down (or come to a stop) once you saw the van coming towards you and let him pass.
Thanks for your advice, duly noted.0

Thank you kindly for your helpful and very useful post. I tried calling in yesterday pm to my local tyre garage, but they were all fully booked. Very good point about telling insurer. Many thanks, there are some genuine people out there at last! :money::beer::j:T:rotfl:0

actually it was the insurance company who was scammedhenrygregory wrote: »Ok, so I will in future not report any incidents to police and potentially allow fraudulent motor claims to go untraced such as the £30k scam which occurred to me. Sound advice, many thanks Quentin (up until your last post, you had actually been very helpful).0

Reporting it to the police wouldn't have prevented such a claim unfortunately.0

What kind of idiot, would expect the other drive not to stop if I had to take evasive action and went through a wall? I have never know such a stupid and off-topic question to ask. If I ended up going through a wall, I would clearly expect the other driver to stop, unless they were so distracted that they didn't notice what had happened, in which case, they would have most certainly been driving dangerously.
I only asked that because you said:
"I also thought it strange the officer would have asked why the other driver did not stop as I thought you were only supposed to if you came into contact with each other."
In my hypothetical situation, the vehicles didn't come into contact with each other. You said that you thought vehicles were only supposed to stop if they came into contact with each other. Ergo, in my hypothetical situation you should think that the vehicle should just drive on.
 Get me now?
You're posting things and contradicting yourself all the time. Get your story straight. What will your verse be?

You did do what you were supposed to. There was no apparent injury at the time so non-reportable.0
