You have posted asking people's opinions and now you have them, you don't like what you have heard so are becoming irate.
There is nothing in the video which shows the van driver had intruded onto your side of what was obviously a narrow road. Nor do either of you slow down when you are approaching one another.
If that had been me I would have seen a large wide van approaching me in an area where there was little space, and slowed considerably, or stopped. You had plenty of time to do so but chose to drive at some speed into the kerb instead, which has now unsurprisingly trashed your wheel.
The reason that you have a broken wheel is down to your driving and your failure to react appropriately to an oncoming vehicle.
Sorry you don't like it but thats the case and is likely to be what the police and / or your insurers think if they see that video.0

They clearly did not stop as they would not have known I had damaged my car.
Hypothetically, if someone drives directly at you and you had to take evasive action and career into a wall, you don't think they're supposed to stop? What will your verse be?

All this reporting to the police doesn't tally with your concern for not wasting taxpayers money you tell us was your reason for starting this thread!henrygregory wrote: »...... Since then, any incident involving my vehicle, I inform the police of so I know I have done my bit.0

no need for the van driver to stop it was you who drove into the kerb
 deal with it0

Get your car checked for suspension and tyre damage and find the price for a repair or replacement wheel. Unless you intend to claim for this I wouldn't tell your insurer.0

You drove into a kerb and damaged your car and you want to report someone else for the damage?
It's not his fault that you moved over too far. You need to anticipate the road better. Perhaps slow down a bit if you find it difficult to start with."One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0

After watching the video I have to say you should have slowed down (or come to a stop) once you saw the van coming towards you and let him pass.0

Ok, so I will in future not report any incidents to police and potentially allow fraudulent motor claims to go untraced such as the £30k scam which occurred to me. Sound advice, many thanks Quentin (up until your last post, you had actually been very helpful).0

I have made it quite clear that if I hit a curb, I would not expect the other driver to stop. What kind of idiot, would expect the other drive not to stop if I had to take evasive action and went through a wall? I have never know such a stupid and off-topic question to ask. If I ended up going through a wall, I would clearly expect the other driver to stop, unless they were so distracted that they didn't notice what had happened, in which case, they would have most certainly been driving dangerously.0
