Surely if they have said they can forecast costs and RPI has slowly decreased then we should ask for a price decrease0

After being on contract for a while (sim only), I've switched back to pay and go, and I have to say, I agree with you.
Was on Ovivo, now on Giffgaff, but knowing i've got the freedom to do as I please is nice (I'm not a heavy user anyway)
Unfortunately, people will continue to lock themselves into silly 24 month contracts in order to get the latest shiny phonesbut even then, you can buy them outright and go on PAYG. Its much less hassle this way.
and as well most people wont realise that most payg do bundles now which are much better than the allowances on a contract and cheaper too.
so you can still go buy the shiny new handset, which wont be tied to one network. you have the flexibility to choose who you like network wise and leave whenever you want.
and more importantly still have change left over compared to what you'd have paid on a contract.
after all, whats this website all about? saving you money!0 -
Sooo, let me just check that I have this right.
Being a sucker for all things shiny and new I took out a 2 year fixed contract last year on a galaxy s4 with T mobile.
Being shiny and new I KNEW that the price I was asked to pay (£30 pm) was, at some point, going to make me feel slightly sick as they always go down - last offer I saw was for a s4 for £19 pm.
I was OK with this. Big boy, my decision, I would 'take it on the chin'.
However, although I am happy to be locked into fixed contract for 2 years and accept that if I had waited I could have got it cheaper, T Mobile are not happy with this and seek to further increase the price.
I think what makes me distinctly unhappy is that OFCOM seem to have accepted that such a situation is unfair, hence the rule change, but T Mobile (and EE) a) Have taken no notice of the spirit behind the rule change b) Care not one jot for the bad publicity and ill feeling that ripping off Customers causes.
I am locked into T Mobile for another year so they will get, what £12 off me? Very, very short sighted of them...0 -
Don't just wait to cancel your contract
Call Ofcom 020 7981 3040
Make a complaint - the more complaints they receive the more likely they are to act.
Also they will give you some interesting advice that may help.
Take that advice about material detriment and then...
Call EE and complain 0800 079 006
You should be able to get out of your contract now.
Which are also running a campaign which you should join at which .co. uk / campaigns / mobile - phone - price - rises
Also worth reading this...

Armed with the right info you can leave right away.0 -
