I've been Money Tipped! Debt-free and Proud!
Thanks for the advice about workout clothes. I will stop off at Primark next week and also sports direct. I guess my biggest expenditures will be a decent sports bra and pair of trainers.
    Can anyone recommend some?

    Tink, I had:

    B- Wholemeal toast with PB
    S- Fruit
L- Tarka Dahl and 1 wholemeal pitta
S- (having in a minute) Satsuma
D- Turkey thai curry with brown rice. (not the most low cal meal, but filling).

Today will go something like this:

    B- Crumpets and jam
    S- Apple
    L- Falafel or ham salad
    S- Melon
D- Meatballs with wholewheat spaghetti. A side serving of mixed veggies.

Drinks of 1L of water, 1L of weak squash. 1 hot choc, cupa of tea.

Am working today, so 4 hours of mild exercise (hovering, mopping, dusting, cleaning etc).

Shock absorber do decent sports bras, pricier than some others but I have a few from sports direct and they don't give me the same support. Trainers, depends if you need a running shoe or a cross trainer.

Thanks purpleshoes. I don't know the difference between a running shoe or cross trainer..i am guessing that the running shoe would be for if I run a a lot (which I don't).

Maybe a cross trainer would be better for me? Re the bra- yes I think i'll go for a shock absorber.

Cross trainer if you are doing aerobics. I used to wear new balance a lot, never had a problem with them, easy to break in and not expensive.

I've never paid more than about 35-40 for a cross trainer, I know some people do but I've never seen the point in paying a lot of money for something I need to replace every 6 months or so.

Running shoes have more tread and are designed for forward movement, cross trainers, it's more lateral movement you do in aerobics, I do know people who do aerobics in a running shoe but I don't.

Why do you constantly ignore and refute any advice given to you by those who are obviously more knowledgeable about these things?

I don't mean to be rude but I find your attitude extremely exasperating. Lots of people have given you excellent advice in this thread yet you seem determined to just carry on doing all the bad things you've always done so you're only ever going to get the bad results you've always got.

I don't even know why you started the thread and I think it's a complete waste of time anyone offering you advice to be fair.

I think this thread is quite an eye-opener and a true insight in to why some people will never lose weight despite being ‘on a diet’ for years. I did think that to lose weight all you needed was the willpower to eat less & move more. But it is evident that to be successful you also need to:
    • Accept that if you want to make big changes your size & shape, you have to make big changes to your lifestyle. The more weight you want to loose, the bigger the changes you need to make.
    • Accept that certain (bad foods) are off limits. (yes, it is unfair)
    • Accept that life’s not fair and just because your OH is stick thin, doesn’t mean you can eat the same crap as them.
    • Accept that at sometimes you may be a little bit hungry.
    • Learn to love the healthy stuff.
    • Listen and learn from other people’s experiences.
    • Accept that you can’t have your (chocolate fudge) cake (with ice cream) and eat it.
I appreciate that Tinks2 only wants to receive replies from posters congratulating her on eating 1,200 calories of crap.

However, my advice would be. Get a life. I meant that in the nicest possible way. Get up in the morning. Get out the house and go and do something useful, creative, meaningful. Volunteer, take up photography, work with animals, the homeless, do flower arranging, go sailing. Just find something that interests you. Just find something that distracts you from thinking about food and 101 things to do with tuna 24 hours a day, day in and day out.

I agree, finding things to do that don't involve being at home all the time would be positive. I also don't know anything about hamster but do they sleep all day and are awake all night. I don't think a day to night lifestyle is healthy. I know some people can be awake at night and feel ok but when I worked nights at 3 or 4 am, no matter how much sleep I had had the day before my body knew it wanted to be asleep. I do think anyone who wants to make changes to their lifestyle has to be applauded, but if you are stuck in a rut it's not helpful. Even if you think it's a rut that suits you. I also do think that the ops current calories are way too low given that she wants to lose another two and a half stones.

I've had two pairs of new balance (one for running and one for everyday wear) they are so comfortable. Currently run in a pair of Addidas and a pair of Nikes for running. I have a pair of Asics for the gym.

Thanks, I will have a look in sports direct :)

You may feel rubbish being up all night but I don't, I actually prefer it so does my OH

Going out every day is not possible, that's why I have things in the flat to do

Also my calories aren't low every day, yeah one or two days I keep them quite low but that's to enable me to be able to go out for a meal
