Just saw this thread, perfect as I am now on day two of healthy eating diet! :j

    Yesterday I ate:

    Breakfast - Porridge with 1/2 a banana & sultanas

Lunch - Took a salad to work

Dinner - Homemade roasted veg, potatoes & chicken in tomato sauce

Snacks - Carrot sticks and beetroot dip, handful of nuts & seeds

Drinks - Sugar free squash & sparkling water throughout the day, 2 cups of tea at work

    Today I'm eating:

Breakfast - Nature Valley bar...not the healthiest I know, but I had to be at work for 7am!

Lunch - Asparagus soup (fresh from restaurant at work), Mullerlight greek style yoghurt

Dinner - Stir fry veg & noodles

    Snacks - Banana

Drinks - Sugar free squash & sparkling water throughout the day, 1 cup of tea at work

I'm trying to be 'healthy' rather than worry about counting calories/sticking to a diet plan. I've vowed to give up fizzy drinks (hence the sparkling water) and try to give up processed sugar and carbs...

Day two and last night I had a dream about a pain au chocolat :p

    Thanks! :-)

Anyone got any ideas for quick, healthy breakfasts?

Two days a week (sometimes more) I have to do the early shift at work which is 7am start, so I need a decent breakfast to get me through the morning.

How about making your own granola bars? That way you know exactly what is in them.
I also like sliced banana with Greek yogurt, and a sprinkling of toasted chopped nuts.(add a bit of honey, or some seeds if you like).
Good luck with your weightloss .Your meal plan looks great.

That's what I was thinking! I have the hairy dieters granola recipe at home which I might try :-)

I'm thinking a pot of yoghurt with fruit and a sprinkle of granola might be good. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Hopefully that will help stop my sugar cravings. I had a huge headache last night which I know was withdrawl from sugar/caffine.

If you're buying the pots of yoghurt then I would check the label first as some of them contain added sugar (and other things like starch for thickening) .If you buy a big pot of plain yoghurt (Greek yoghurt is nice and filling) and add your own fruit and flavours then it will be healthier. The real (natural) yoghurt contains one ingredient - milk.
(Hope you don't mind me mentioning this :))

The headaches should pass after a couple of days. It is surprising, is it not, that our bodies can react as so, to the sugar/caffeine withdrawal.

I usually always go for the low fat "healthy" yoghurts until I found this out! Especially bad as my OH has type 1 diabetes! We thought we were being healthy until we noticed how much sugar goes into them :-(

I'm going to try natural yoghurt (I love the plain yoghurt that comes with a muller fruit corner, but they don't sell it on it's own, so I end up binning the fruit bit) then I can add my own flavourings at home. I like lemon and vanilla :)

I never even thought I consumed so much caffine/sugar as I only drink diet drinks and tea. It's amazing how much there is hidden inside our food and drink
