Hi guys. I received a letter today for a £100 parking fine from UKCPS stating the driver failed to pay the discounted rate of £60 within 14 days.

I can categorically state the driver did not receive any other correspondence prior to the letter I received today nor was anything put on the windscreen of the vehicle.

£60 for the initial fine seems ridiculous nevermind the £100!!

Not sure how but you seem ot have missed this:

Have a read of that, it tells you everything you need to know/do to make this go away through appealing.

#1 It is NOT A FINE! Remove that word from your dictionary in respect of private parking charges.

#2 The PPC is alleging a windscreen ticket was affixed. Hey ho - who cares? You have now received the NTK. Follow the advice in the NEWBIES sticky thread - send in the first appeal, word for word (but edited with relevant details), to either hook a POPLA code or get the PCN cancelled.

I had a quick glance but got confused - This notice of not paying the discounted rate, is this my NTK?

Its the first thing ive seen in regards to this "fine"

treat it as an NTK and appeal it in the usual manner

    do not overthink this procedure

Cheers guys! I’ll update you how I get on. Absolutely infuriating especiallyas a council ticketed me a couple weeks ago for blocking access to wheelchairs.Very harshly given in my book, was plenty of room. Even that was only £35 and was paid promptly.

    But this.. a joke!!

You should never just pay any parking ticket (except a Police one) without appealing it with knowledge about how to win. Any future Council ticket, take it here and appeal it and win the case, in most situations:

    http://forums.pepipoo.com/index.php?showforum=30

And as for the other one you have now read the NEWBIES thread so you'll also know how to win that one at POPLA and we look forward to seeing you update when you win in the end. If you want help when you have already drafted your POPLA appeal then fair enough, do show it to us (please don't just say 'what's my next step?' or I will scream and self combust!). Sorry, we simply can't keep up with threads about stuff already covered on the forum stickies...it's why I wrote the thread. We can help with people's drafted POPLA appeal though as that shows they've read the info provided and simply need some wording fine-tuning or confirmation it's good to go.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Just sat down to draft an appeal letter.

Got me thinking, what happens if UKCPS provide photographic evidence of parking on an area that is slightly raised up and is supposed to be a walk way?

Would the driver still have any chance fighting this PCN even if that area is sign posted to advise not to park there?

    Cheers

The template appeal letter in the NEWBIES thread is all you need for the moment. That contains the legal grounds on which to begin to challenge a private parking ticket. Take a look also at the flow chart for an overview of the process

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4816822

The precise circumstances don't matter - as you are challenging them on much higher grounds than whether you did or did not comply with their rules.

That said - the way to avoid getting a PCN is to park responsibly in the first place.

just to let you know, the template was enough!!!

No Popla, they got scared it seems and said they would forget the £100 fine as a first time gesture

    thank you MSE!!
