Can I ask about the jigsaws, Goldie, do you buy them to do, or resell?
A bit of both really.
We both like jigsaws, usually do one a week, sometimes two.
So I buy, do them, and then sell them on. Then I use the proceeds to buy more.
'Nostalgia' puzzles are the most popular, so when a new range of puzzles comes out, I'll buy a few of the most desirable puzzles, as they'll have a high resale value.
Otherwise, I'll buy second hand by auction. I'll pay a bit more for a newer puzzle, and less for an older one.
For second hand puzzles my aim is to sell for a higher amount than I bought. Doesn't always work!
I also have a few vintage jigsaws tucked away, which I'll sell when the time is right.
 at Karmacat ... I confess to being just at that impressionable age when watching Butterflies (mum used to watch it therefore we did too) that my main interest in it was the crush I had on Nicholas Lyndhurst
I had a few crushes in the 70's as well, most far to embarrassing to mention :rotfl:
My least embarrassing one is still fairly embarrassing. Kevin Keegan - the perm years!:oEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Hurrah! Fantastic news about your consultation, and that you can manage the symptoms without surgery. I wonder how much the changes you have already made have positively impacted on your situation. I guess it's probably too difficult to know really, but if it's not broke etc etc.
So pleased for you! Just shows that your determination has paid off, and finishing work this year can only help further I'm surexx

Hello everyone, thanks for dropping in:)
Today will be a day of getting things done
I need to -
Go out and purchase a folder for keeping my medical notes and correspondence.
Order batteries for blood pressure monitor. My blood pressure was a bit high yesterday, but it always is in medical situations. I want to monitor myself for a while to make sure it goes down again.
Find out how to inform DVLA of the situation. I hope they don't revoke my licence, in fact I don't think there's any reason too, as I'm not just dropping with disabling vertigo. But it's not my decision, so I'm not even going to worry about it - I can't do anything to influence them.
Phone car insurance company to advise them. The travel insurance is in Mr Goldie's name, so he'll need to do this.
Phone solicitor. It was three weeks ago that we went in to draw up our wills. They said they'd email me a draft, haven't heard anything yet.
Go through kitchen cupboards and remove tins, jars and packs that don't suit my diet. I can donate these a food bank via the church down the road. Also do general kitchen cleaning and tidying.
Pay NW credit card by online banking
Check to see if Holland & Barrett have managed to link my loyally card to my account. If not, don't bother to shop there again! (I'm so unforgiving:rotfl:)Early retired - 18th December 2014

Thats a good list! As far as H&B goes, I've once again given up shopping with them (sometimes I go back, for convenience
). I really, really loathe their pricing structures, the way they always have offers on, 100% of the time, they're as good as telling us that the prices are artifically inflated
I've done one order with an online firm called Healthy Supplies, that a friend had used, and I'm going to go with them again, after checking to see that *they're* still cheaper.
Hope you get good news from the DVLC.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hoorah, everything on my list has been done:j
The delay with the will is because the solicitors secretary is on holiday. I feel a bit sorry for her, if she's got to come back to two weeks worth of work!
I'm no longer a customer of H&B, as they still haven't got my account right. I'll look at the Healthy Supplies website, thanks for the tip, Karma.
I had a couple of chicken breasts in the freezer, and, as there's lots of figs in the shops, bought a pack of figs. Looking at my new cookbook (by my new hero 'Meniere Man'. He also did a fabulous self help book that I've got on my kindle), I did deli style chicken breasts for dinner.
Basically, flatten the chicken breasts by beating them with a rolling pin. Fill with chopped figs, roll up into a sausage shape, brush with olive oil and cook for about 30 mins at 180c. They were really tasty. Other fillings suggested are dried apricots (soaked first), cranberry sauce or pesto. I'll certainly try at least a couple of these, and I expect there's other fillings you could use.
I've got my envelope ready to send to the DVLA.
On the one hand it wouldn't be a complete disaster if my licence was revoked. My car has been a bit of a luxury really, and I could get by without it.
But on the other hand, being able to drive is about independence, and it would be a blow if I couldn't got where I wanted with ease.
But, there's nothing I can do, so I'll put it out of my mind and see what happens in due course.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I love savoury fruit sauces - I bet that cranberry one, and the apricots too, are really tasty2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I think I'll do cranberry next time. Cranberry sauce has only a trace of salt, so it'll be ideal.
Today I'm going to try and get up to date with the housework.
Just a couple of extra things to do.
I'm going to phone the cruise company, regarding my upcoming cruise in December, to register my dietary requirements. They look after people with special diets very well, at least that's what people have told me.
Also, I'm going to cancel my Ancestry subscription, which is due for renewal on 10th October as I haven't been using it. I can always start subscribing later if I want to start it up again.
Have a good dayEarly retired - 18th December 2014
