Glad you've had a restful weekend Goldie ... sounds entirely sensible to go armed with your questions and sense of self tomorrow. Three pages! Hope he has the right responses ready!

Hope all goes well, best of luck X

PS: :rotfl: at wonderment of simple pleasure of loved ones whilst dusting, tis the sort of moment that grabs me too! Do you remember the TV programme Butterflies? Kind of reminds me of Ria's ponderments as well! Amazing therapy, dusting!

Best of luck at the hospital tomorrow Goldie, the calm and considered manner in which you're approaching the situation will pay dividends in terms of keeping your stress levels down :)

I'll be thinking of you, Goldie - just remember to take those notes along! Great to have you taking back control of your life, on your terms.

Hope today goes really well :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

Hello everyone, thank you so much for taking to the time to think of me, it is much appreciated.

It all went better than I could possibly have imagined.

I went to the pro-op appointment, and then went to see the consultant.

I think I've confounded him a bit, because the tests that I did the other week have come back in the normal range!

He still diagnoses Meniere's, but in view of my test results, my continuing lack of vertigo, no feeling of pressure in my ear and improved hearing, he agreed with me that the best way forward is to try to manage the situation by diet and lifestyle changes!

    Hoorah!

Really pleased that we are now on the same page.

I'll get an appointment for 4 months time so we can monitor progress.

I think he's quite interested in my case, as I've turned out different to what he was expecting.

So now, all I've got to do is make it work for me!!

I'm still not completely free of hospital appointments, as I'm back again at the end of next week for audiology, for a hearing aid fitting. This hearing aid will be completely unsuitable for me, as the fitting type is for someone deafer than I am at the moment. But, at least it'll be there for me to use if I need it.

Also, there's some other things I'll need to do. I'll have to advise the DVLA, advise my car insurance people and my travel insurance people.

But that can wait for a day or two, as I'm having the afternoon off.

We had fish and chips for lunch in the garden to celebrate the positive outcome. Fish and chips is now the only take-away I can have!

Now I'm going to browse eBay for jigsaws I'd like to bid on, and then I'll do my daily walk.

Yes, I used to really like that programme. A young Nicholas Lyndhurst was in it too. He's aged a bit since then.... but haven't we all !

Fantastic news! How brilliant is it, to confound a consultant :):):)

I remember Butterflies, too, by the way - I told my mum once that she reminded me of Ria, and fortunately she took it as a compliment, which is indeed how it was meant :)

Can I ask about the jigsaws, Goldie, do you buy them to do, or resell?

So glad you've had a happy outcome Goldie, to be able to manage it with diet is so much better than operations but to still have the consultant for backup is excellent, all bases covered!

Don't blame you for taking a pause before doing the admin side of it all, the pause is a positive one, whereas having to inform DVLA, them as need to know etc etc of diagnosis can be quite a negative experience ... you do right to keep it positive today and you deserve it too!

Have a good rest of the week ... even better to have got that over with today!

    * BTW, caught myself humming the Butterflies theme tune earlier!

 at Karmacat ... I confess to being just at that impressionable age when watching Butterflies (mum used to watch it therefore we did too) that my main interest in it was the crush I had on Nicholas Lyndhurst :o
