Well the OP is still not stopped!

Fortunately, I didn't have to wait for phone calls, it was all dealt with by email.

Apparently I see the consultant as part of the pre-OP assessment. So I've got to go through an assessment for an operation I'm not going to have, before I can speak to him.

I feel bad that I will waste time, but it seems there's no other way. It's like they don't believe that I won't be proceeding.
Crazy system. But looking on the bright side you will at least get to sit down and have a nice chat with the consultant rather than a brief message with his secretary. And as part of that nice chat he gets to met you, hear your research and discuss the way forward together. It could work for you :) (Fingers crossed)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

    Hi Goldie!

I agree with Watty (and with you!) - thats their system, and if thats the way it is, then you have to use it to get to the right decision for you. Love the sound of lifestyle and diet combos, much more sensible to try that first - very odd that thats not been suggested first by them.

As for dusting  I'm rubbish at dusting. It makes my allergies act up, thats one of my excuses :D

Yes, you are right - you have to keep in the system, as once you fall out of the system, it's a right pain trying to get back in!

One good thing is that, with all that has been going on, we haven't been spending much money.

However, we did go out this morning and buy a few items we needed and utilised some extra points vouchers.

Mr Goldie had his second and last dentist's appointment (£219for this treatment, paid for out of the contingency fund)

I did a little tidying in the garden and this afternoon I'll go for a walk, but that's all that's going on really.

Another two days of work over with:j

Mr Goldie's payday today, so a new month has started.

I think the figures will be quite good this month, as we haven't really thought much about spending money.

Apart from that, not much to report really, so I think TV and reading is beckoning

    Hi Goldie

It seems quite a lot of people have got paid today. Sadly I have to wait until next Friday.

Nothing wrong with tv and reading ;)

    Have a lovely weekend

    BW :)

Me too BW, we'll have our own little party :T (PS have you checked your account at around 10pm the night before - it's usually in then :D).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hi Gallygirl - party sounds good to me :D

I have checked as I have seen you say that before - however, it never seeems to show up for me until the actual day - not sure if that's a bank thing or company thing. I guess the important thing is I get it!

In the days before internet banking, my friend would wait at an ATM at around 11pm of the day before payday to check that her money had gone in.

On one occasion it must have looked very suspicious, as a policeman asked her what she was doing !

For lunch, I tried low salt pizza mark two. This time I used lo-salt in the pizza base, which tasted fine. I used a different branded of tinned tomato for the sauce, which was a better consistency, with ground pepper and basil to pep it up. Mr Goldie had ham on his side of the pizza, and the rest of the toppings were pineapple, small tomatoes and chopped red peppers, and a sprinkling of mozzarella. It was a much better effort this time, so, this can stay on the menu.

I continue to be surprised at how much salt is hidden in packaged foods.

Now that I don't have ham, I've been looking at sliced packaged meats like beef and chicken and even they have added salt.

Up until recently I've been buying gammon joints to cook for lots of sandwich meat, so I'll be doing this with other meats now. The chickens we've had for the last couple of weekends have supplied us with meat for sandwiches. This week I found a smallish beef joint in Sainsbury's for £5. We'll have it for lunch tomorrow and then the rest of it will go in my sandwiches.

YS shopping will start in the near future, maybe not this year, but certainly by the start of next year

I've written up a load of notes for when I see the doctor on Monday. I'm now going to type them up, and put them on a clipboard, so I can easily make notes at the appointment.

Not sure if I'll get a walk done this afternoon, as it's very grey and the forecasters keep threatening storms. Tomorrow should be better so I'll definitely go for a walk tomorrow morning

Mmm your pizza sounds yummy! Glad that you have found one that works for you :)

I've been so naughty with food this week :( I've been off work and it's been difficult to be good. Will have to get back to being well behaved....honest :o

It's grey and drizzly here too. I was going to go for a walk but have decided against. Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer for us both
  • Hopefully you'll get a walk today, it's lovely here.

We had a good walk this morning in a fresh breeze.

I've got a load of washing on the line which should dry quickly, so I hope to get all the ironing done today.

I've sold a book for £3 on Greenmetropolis. I had this one listed for abut 4 years. Although it's slow on GM, books do still sell from time to time, and just about as you are about to give up another sale happens to keep you interested. When the funds are available to me, I'll put them in the yet to be renamed HAF

Tomorrow morning I have my pre-op appointment at the hospital. It pains me that I've got to waste the hospital's valuable time going through checks for a an op that I'm not going to have ( not to mention wasting my time) but it seems as if this is the only way I can see the doctor again. So I'll just have to put up with it!

I have produced a 3 page document with questions and my thoughts, so I feel confident that I'm suitably prepared.

A couple of people I know have commented that it's almost as if I've been bullied into this situation. I'm sure the doctor feels he's doing the best, but he gave me no options or choices, so I must admit it feels as if I have had no control. I intend to re-take control of my life tomorrow.
