Thanks for calling by everyone :)
Hope the salmon is behaving itself and cooking in an appropriate manner ;)

I think it went quite well - I enjoyed the meal, and as the cook I thought that was a good sign, as you can be overcritical of what you produce.
Everybody else seemed to like it too:)

The person who is collecting a sold eBay item has been in touch, will collect Thursday evening, so that's all sorted.

I've got six parcels to post this morning, and one sale currently unpaid.

After that, I'll get some housework done/washing out, and then my focus will turn back to eBay.

I've got three things ready to list from the stuff my friend gave me last week, so I'll do that, then I want to photograph the rest of the stuff. Some of it needs pressing to look at it's best, so I'll need to do that first. I suspect it'll be free listing this weekend, being bank holiday, so I want to get prepared to have a big hit on listing.

    Have a good day

  • Congrats on your plans Gg - very exciting :T

Are they still having FLW's on eBay? I haven't really been into it recently, no time with kids off school, but I thought they'd all but given up on them since the listing changes. I'd be glad to see them back, for re-listing if for nothing else.

Have the candles arrived? Am desperate to do the Fork Handles joke but I won't ;)

It was only three !! :rotfl:

Yes, they arrived last week, and they smell lovely, especially the banana tea bread one, good enough to eat !

I'm very impressed with QVC...... I think you may have started an addiction !:rotfl:

eBay seemed to have stopped the FLW for a while, around about the time of the password 'debacle', but they are back now, although mostly invitation only. Every other weekend seems to be FLW, and I average an invite three out of four times. It's generally Saturday, Sunday and Monday, not just Sat & Sun.

What with the 20 free any price/any day listings, and the option to relist for free up to three times if the item is unsold, there is plenty of opportunity to list.

I used to use the 100 99p free listings, as I was selling my postcards and records on an individual basis. But I've finished with that now, and I think I prefer the new listing structure.

I've got £4 to transfer into the 'HAF', which is my share of a couple of things I sold for my friend on eBay.

I'm just bracing myself to start listing/photoing things. I think I'd better get stuck in!

  • Thanks for that eBay info Gg . Like I say I've not really kept up with it recently but hoping to get back into it when school starts again. When DD goes to nursery my plan is to list virtually everything in the house :rotfl:

Glad the three candles are lovely! I've been burning a St Eval one, called The Camomile Lawn, you can probably guess why I chose it ;). I was never a candle person until my best friend got into Yankee & now I love them. Her faves are Beach Walk & Island Something Or Other :D

There's so many different 'flavours' of candle to try. I want to try them all, but also have repeats of my favourites. I think I'd really have to 'burn the candle at both ends' to achieve that, as there's a lot of candles out there!

Mr GG seems very keen on the preparations for leaving his job. He bought home a huge pile of papers to go through, amassed in 10 years of his current job, and, as he took all his papers from his old job, many, many previous years paperwork, out of the huge pile, he's keeping three pages, which may be useful in the next few months. This is only the tip of the iceberg, there is much more paper to go though, so I'm told.

I've only been in my job four and a half years, so I won't have much paper to go through. But I remember when we were all made redundant. I got rid of paperwork I'd kept for more than 20 years. It was very liberating!

Today's plans - post last eBay parcel, take a load of supermarket plastic bags and juice cartons to recycling centre, look (not buy) at M&S sale, carry on photoing eBay items, and start to prep a few listings.

While I'm out, I'm also going to pick up a Holland & Barrett loyalty card, in my ongoing attempt to own every loyalty card I might need.

    Have a good day

Another accounting month starts here, as my pension and Mr Goldie's salary has hit our account.

I'll pull together all the figures when the credit card bills come in, but, it won't be a low spending month.

I doubt if this month will be low spending either. Mr Goldie has gone to the dentist for a check up, but feels he'll probably need at least one filling, and he may also make arrangements for the tooth he chipped a couple of months ago to be fixed. It is a NHS dentist, but some money still has to be paid.

I'll pay the TV licence today, but that is already budgeted for in the Bills account.

I picked up a Holland and Barrett loyalty card which the assistant activated for me, and came home and and set up an online account, all ready for when it's needed. But I couldn't get the loyalty card to marry up with the account and had to phone them. They assured me they'd sort it, but the card still doesn't seem to show. I'll give it a few days, and phone again if needed. But if it turns out to be too much of a faff, I'll just cross them off the loyalty list and shop elsewhere.

I got all my eBay photoing finished yesterday, and have now started to prepare the listings.

I'm plodding away doing surveys. It can be frustrating, to be screened out after answering quite a few questions or to be half way through the survey only to be told they've reached the maximum amount of replies. Once I was told I wasn't suitable for the survey, and I hadn't even answered any questions at all, just pressed 'next'!

When you do get a survey that they feel is suitable, some of the subjects are mind numbingly boring!

But, as I've started to build up a balance of money, I feel I must carry on, so I can eventually cash out.

But my idea of doing competitions has quickly bitten the dust..... That was way too much work.

  • Hi

Thanks for the info on flea bay free listings. I wasn't sure how it worked anymore so I'll keep my eye out now!

  • I was just the same with the Iceland loyalty card, it didn't register correctly, I sent several emails & got replies saying they were sorting/had sorted it, but it never worked, so I gave up. I only ever buy biscuits in there as they have brand names a lot cheaper than the supermarkets. The loyalty cards I use most are Boots, Waterstones & Sainsys. I think Boots is the best value in terms of points & they often do extra points offers :money:

Glad that things are going well goldie - must be very exciting for MrG (although I can imagine sorting through papers may start as exciting, and then become tedious as time goes on....)
    Ooh it'll soon be you..... ;) x
