Hope you are having a lovely time 'on the river'Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

Hello everyone, I'm back. Arrived home on Saturday evening.
Had a brilliant time, although we got off to a slightly fraught start.
One of our cases didn't turn up at Munich Airport:eek: however, it was on the next flight, and was delivered to the ship by 8 o'clock that evening. I now understand there were major baggage issues at Heathrow T5 over that weekend, so it ended up being a very good result.
We had some rain to start off with, but that meant the river levels rose enough to allow us to sail for the full cruise, which was fantastic. When they announced it, all the passengers were cheering and clapping.
It wasn't the cheapest holiday, but the food and service we got were top notch. Also drinks were included with meals, many tours were included in the price, and we got free bottled water and free teas, coffees (including lattes and cappuccinos) and hot chocolates. So a lot was included in the price.
I've done quite a bit of the washing and ironing. I had to dry two loads in the dryer, but the the sun came out and I was able to dry the rest on the line. It's nice and sunny this morning, so I'll get the remaining things on the line shortly.
I was concerned that our flowers and veg wouldn't survive the week without our attention. Some things were looking a bit droopy when we got home, but a good water and a bit of rain has revived most of them. We may lose a couple of bean plants though.
So, back to the real world now. But having a good holiday reminds me what I'm working towards, so I'm in the mood to get right back into the MFW lifestyle.
Possibly 8 months until retirement !:jEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Working at Living0 -
It sounds like a great break. Welcome back!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

While I was on holiday, I was living in the moment, and not thinking about the future at all.
I'm going to try and carry on doing that, as otherwise I'll just wish away the next 8 months......as you say, it's not long so it'll fly by.
I'm not going to think about what next year will being until about December, when it's time to set out the aims for the new year.
But it'll be difficult, especially when I go back to work on Thursday!
I've been busy washing and ironing, and now I've got three pairs of trousers left to iron, and I'll be completely up to date.
I also did most of the housework, so tomorrow I can catch up on some admin tasks.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Had some good news yesterday.
Had a letter from my employer, we've been granted our annual pay rise. It means approx £20 per month extra for me, which is not to be sneezed at.
My grocery order was delivered as planned yesterday evening, so all stocked up again.
Just thinking what I need to do today.
Cook ham in slow cooker
Go to shops to buy cola and chorizo that I forgot in grocery order
Finish last of holiday ironing.
Chase tax refund - I wrote on 3rd June and haven't heard anything, so I'm bracing myself to phone.
Research will writers - shamefully for a reasonably financially aware couple we don't have wills yet, really need to put this right
Prepare some eBay listings ready for the weekend
Meet friend for tea.
I think that's about itEarly retired - 18th December 2014
