See how sagacious you are!
Hello, by the way
Hello KC, good to see you again
I'll probably need some more sagacity to deal with my next eBay situation.
I sold a coat on behalf of my friend, and sent it off by My Hermes. I had an email from them earlier, advising that they can't deliver it, as the person no longer lives at the address. They can redirect it to another address or send it back to me (for a cost of £4), or if they haven't heard from me after 7 days they'll dispose of the parcel.
I've messaged the buyer to see what they want to do, no response as yet. What's the betting that they ignore my messages, and in three weeks time complain they've never received it. It's only sold for £3.99, so I'm not bothered too much, but would like to get the situation resolved.
Considering I don't eBay as much as I used too, such a large percentage of transactions seem to have oddities these days. I sometimes wonder why I do it - but my share of the sales, after all fees was £50 in May, so the money is very useful
The sandals I ordered arrived, and are a perfect fit. I'm delighted with them and they'll get a lot of wear.
We were thinking of going to the Dickens Festival tomorrow, but the weather still isn't good. I think we'll probably give it a miss this year, and hope next year is better. The Festival is on for three days over the weekend, but we tend to avoid going to these sorts of things on Saturdays and Sundays, as they are more crowded.
We did manage to get out for a good walk today, which was nice after a run of really wet days.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I sold a coat to a buyer and she messaged to say I had advertised it as the wrong size so "what were we going to do?" I was mortified, prepared to refund and then realised I had included a photo of the size label in the listing.

I think some of them will try to take advantage if they can
I had a weird size related one the other week.
I sold a pair of trousers, size 12, and the buyer gave positive feedback, but made a snippy comment that they were much too big. But they were size 12, advertised as 12, so it's not really my fault that they didn't fit her individually! I looked at other feedback she'd given and there were quite a lot of snippy comments. I was lucky to get a positive - she had left a lot of neutrals and negatives.
The guy who gave the wrong address still hasn't got back to me.... can't help feeling this won't end well, and I'll end up getting penalised in some way!Early retired - 18th December 2014

It sounds like you've got to be so careful these days ... I'll have my heart in my mouth the first few things I sell, I'm sure. Never mind, the overall picture will be a profitable one.
Have a good weekend.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I hope you get your ebay issue sorted soon.
DH once sold an expensive item (over £100) on ebay. The address on ebay didn't look right, as though there was a bit missing, but after no response to our messages to the buyer to check it DH insisted on sending it anyway.
The buyer queried that he hadn't received it and we sent proof that it had been posted to the address on ebay. We spoke to ebay and they said that we were right to send it to the address on ebay/paypal and that it was the buyers responsibility to ensure that the address they had listed was correct.
We never heard back as to whether he got the item or not and I don't think we got any feedback either way. This was a few years ago.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%

Co-incidental timing... or what??
I've been reading the monthly magazine from the supermarket that begins with S... and they have an offer for cheaper tickets for the open air theatre at Regents Park. They are £35 instead of £52.50
If you were interested in taking up the offer you enter the code online when booking. It's the name of the supermarket and 35 on the end.0 -

You have to wonder about people when they don't know where they live!
The buyer did come back to me in the end, it was his work address, and the company moved to a different location at short notice. (Very short notice, I'd say, more like a moonlight flit!) He's given me his home address, and My Hermes should deliver on Tuesday.
Now on to the next eBay 'issue'. I sold the cushion for our previous garden bench, for collection. The guy seemed keen as he messaged as soon as the auction ended, and said he'd text me this morning to confirm when he'd be round to collect it today. You guessed it, no text. I'll leave it until tomorrow, then I'll message again if he hasn't been in touch. It's bound to be some sort of unspecified family crisis, of the sort which always happens when arrangements have been made to pick up eBay items. (cynical, moi :rotfl:)Co-incidental timing... or what??

That's a really good saving, thank you for thinking of me.
I think we've put outdoor theatre on hold for the time being. On next pension day we want to buy tickets for something we want see to at the Marlowe, and with our holiday coming up, we feel we should be a bit careful with the money
I can't wait for Mr Goldie's state pension to start, so we'll feel a bit more flush, and have a few more theatre trips
Hopefully someone else we see the offer and take advantage of itEarly retired - 18th December 2014

The person who bought the cushion messaged me on Monday morning.... he spent Sunday in hospital with cellulitus ( yes I had to google it too)
He's assured me that he still wants the cushion and will be in touch to collect it 'one evening this week'
I'm beginning to think it's me, as soon as they buy something from me, their life falls apart with illness or crisis, and there's always a palaver about picking up their purchase! :rotfl:
I've got another sale from Saturday still unpaid, with no contact at all - I'll probably have to open a 'case' tomorrow
It's been a pleasant couple of days with the sun out, and have been able to go for a few walks and spend time in the garden.
We have some rain now, and the weatherman says there may be thunder too.
We did the weekly visit to Sainsbury's this morning, and spent just over £45, which is on the low side for us, it's been nearer £55 recently. Our monthly average last year was £227 per month - I still hope to be in the same region at the end of this yearEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Life seems to be going from good times, to annoyance and frustration.
We had a super long walk this morning, along walkways and footpaths and wooded areas in locations which near us, but previously undiscovered by us.
The guy who bought our cushion sent a text to me this morning, and said he'd collect it this evening at 5pm.... Just had another text, he's got to go hospital again and says his son will collect at the weekend. I'm remaining pleasant and understanding.... but must admit I'm getting a bit fed up!
But the worst thing that's going on is that the internet keeps dropping out. It started yesterday afternoon. I checked the website, and it said there were problems in eastern England due to severe weather, and listed a few locations, including Southend. As the crow flies, we are not too far from Southend so I put it down to that.
But it's still doing it today, and there's no real indication I can find that other people in Kent are having trouble with Talk Talk.
According to the modem lights the DSL connection keeps dropping out, for about 30 seconds then coming back on. Sometimes it's ok for as long as 15 minutes, other times it's every 2 - 3 minutes.
I have to look at the modem to make sure I've got the right lights before I click my mouse, every time I use the internet
I rang them earlier...... there's 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back. I had to switch the modem off and on, and they restarted the internet at their end - no effect whatsoever. So they will monitor the line.... and I have to ring back in 10 days if there's no improvement!
I'll give it a few days, but I'm not limping along like this for 10 days. I do quite a lot online, so I need The NetEarly retired - 18th December 2014
