I've never been to an outdoor production either - but I would like to.
It's certainly something I will consider in future, so thanks for the idea:)
Eating a picnic while being entertained, preferably on a warm summers day / evening, sounds right up my streetEarly retired - 18th December 2014

We have been to a few outside productions, normally at one of a few local National Trust sites. They are great and very atmospheric as the sun sets. Be prepared for all weathers! I remember the first production we saw was The Tempest in a tempest! Torrential rain and blowing a gale. It really did take the fizz out of some of the audience's prosecco:)Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
BW kindly sent me a link to the productions she's going to, and the nearest one to us is at a National Trust property we visited last year.
Unfortunately, it's the day before we go on holiday, so maybe not this year, but I'll look again next year.
But good weather would definitely be a great help to proceedingsEarly retired - 18th December 2014

That's another good option - I was also looking at The Globe on the South Bank.
However, after just spending £400 pre-booking our excursions for our cruise in August, I think the entertainment coffers have been emptied for a while!
But, Shakespeare and out door theatre is on the agenda for next year.
We seem to have been spending a bit recently, so I am trying to reign back a little. But I have seen the perfect sandals for £24.95. They're casual, and mutil coloured so I would get a lot of wear our of them.
I'm thinking about it overnight, and see how I feel about them tomorrow.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I've bought the sandals
I don't usually buy shoes online, as I like to try them on before I buy, but I haven't seen these in the shops round here.
But I really won't buy any more 'things' in this pay period.
Our supermarket shopping and my hair appointment in a few weeks is accounted for - so apart from that we have £290 until pension day on 20th June.
We have no planned spending, so this money only needs to cover any train fares or petrol for any days out we may have, plus a coffee or two here and there.
It must be do-able, surely!
The weather is so grim at the moment, I really don't feel like going anywhere. I haven't even been for a walk today.
We may go to the Dickens Festival in Rochester on Friday, but weather dependant.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I am enjoying your sagacious comments over on the Pensions forum Goldie :beer:0

I had no idea what the word sagacious meant - had to look it up!0

I look on it as just chucking in a few comments from a person in the real world.
(But I'm delighted to be regarded as sagacious - that's made my day. Cheers, Ed:) )
A slightly disappointing meal this evening. Put it this way, courgetti will never replace spaghetti. That's one I won't be repeating.Early retired - 18th December 2014

I recently sold a candlestick on eBay on behalf of my friend, but My Hermes managed to break it in transit ( I don't know how they managed to do that, especially with the amount of packing I put in the box).
The buyer sent a photo to confirm the damage, so I refunded in full.
I claimed for the damage from My Hermes, and have just this minute had an email to confirm they'll pay out. It's only £6.28, but a good result.Early retired - 18th December 2014
