Regenerative! Yes! a little bit like being Doctor Who :)

As far as the ornaments are concerned - is your local facebook selling page any good? I haven't tried mine, but its seems to be much more active these days. No wrapping, no postage, no complaints via a faceless organisation ...

Have tried my local facebook page and to be honest it has been more of a trial than anything. At least on bay of e people bid and pay - via faceache my worst was someone who said she would be there after school run - then messaged to say would be 1 pm - then I messaged her at 1.30 to ask if she was still coming and she said she would be there at 4 pm and then was a no show and blocked my messages. What a waste of my time! I gave the item away later that day to the pest control man who called in and said he would love it. Offered to pay but I told him not to be daft and take it! Currently have a bed on same page but cant believe the number of daft questions / no shows.... Sorry...mumbling here :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

That's not mumbling! Thats downright aggravating! No, I wouldn't use it again either. I'll give my local one a go - things like the big cushion that goes on a lounger, not worth ebay hassle, but if someone will pick it up from the house for £5 or something, then thats great. Otherwise, it goes to the charity shop.

    Have a lovely Saturday :)

I am registered with Facebook, but rarely log in. Out of curiosity, I did have a look, but beat a hasty retreat when I saw something for sale 'new, still in 'rapper'' :rotfl:

Doctor Who references are very welcome. In fact Dr Who is one of my earliest memories. I remember my dad being most excited about a new sci-fi show that was going to be on television. I must have been about 3 and a half at the time.

On the occasions that I've sold collection only items on eBay, the buyers have generally been very good about turning up as planned.

I will be selling the cushion from our old garden bench, which would probably be ideal to try on Facebook, but on balance, I think it'll be safer to stick with good old eBay, for all its faults.

A day of financial swings and roundabouts.

The new garden bench we want is now on sale at £20 off, so we've gone ahead and ordered it. (£8.33 has tracked on £co)

The old one has already been dismantled (before it fell down). Some of the wood will be kept, as it's just what we need to repair the shed!

I've had 3 eBay sales, so that's another £11 in the coffers. Also, these things will need quite a bit of packing, so I'll be able to use some of my packaging stash, which has grown recently with all the online shopping I've been doing.

I had a letter from my travel insurance company, asking if my medical circumstances had changed.

When I was on holiday, I developed scalp psoriasis ( I've always been prone to eczema and dry skin), so when I came home I went to the doctors and was given some gel, and it's now cleared up.

But, the letter mentioned GP visits, so I thought I'd better phone the insurance company to advise them of this.

I was gobsmacked when I had to pay an additional premium of £15.36, for the next 6 months!! The most annoying thing is, my Meniere's Disease had no effect on the premiums, even though Meniere's is a lot worse than a bit of psoriasis!

    Crazy!

Good grief, that *is* crazy! So is " 'rapper " mind you :rotfl:

I remember that first episode too! Fantastic. I also remember, about a year later, that I wanted to watch the next episode so much, I didn't tell my parents that the Brownies were having a day out in North Wales, because it was on a Saturday, and I wouldn't be able to watch it :D

    Moi, a media hound?

Ah the joys of a pre-video life!

If there was something I really wanted to watch, I sometimes used to feign illness so I didn't have to go out with my friends!

But there were some things I couldn't get out of. I remember I was following a series on children's TV in the weeks before I started work. I duly started my job, and the programme was on before I got in from work. I never did get to see the end of the series.

I can't even remember what it was called, so I can't even see if it's now on DVD.

The gloss painting in the kitchen and spare room has now been done.

The kitchen has now been finished, apart from any wall plaques or ornaments I might find - but that'll be as and when I find something I like.

The new cushion pads have been received for the chairs in the spare room, but the covers (ordered from a different seller) haven't yet arrived. Also still need to buy paint for the chairs.

Our new garden bench has arrived, still need to assemble it, that will probably be done tomorrow.

There was a massive amount of bubble wrap in the garden bench parcel, which I have shoved in the 'packaging cupboard'.

Yesterday,I went with my friend to Bluewater, and had a nice time, with morning coffee, then later a salmon sandwich lunch in John Lewis. It was a timely visit for me, as I had nearly run out of shampoo and conditioner, so I was able to buy these. Also, got a pair of shorts at M&S - had a £10 voucher to put towards them.

My friend also dropped off her latest things for eBay sale. She says she's going to have more, as she's going to be decorating, and will be getting rid of household items she no longer needs. So my bubble wrap and box supply will come in useful. Also, the additional money will be useful as well, as we can put it towards buying any new clothes we need.

On the subject of additional money, Yougov have started talking to me again and I've had 2 surveys in the last few days. I've inched up to 3950 points. It'd be nice to get up to the 5000 by the time we go away in August.

It's been busy recently, and next week will be quite busy too, but after that most things will be 'done', and we should have time for some days out.

Sounds good, Goldie! You know I'm getting ready for retiring so I can kick into gear when I'm done? I haven't mentioned the terrible state of the gloss paint in this house :o thats great that you're getting yours sorted a bit at a time.
