Heavens yes! I've never bought a Yankee Candle in my life! I did have an essential oil burner at one stage, but grew tired of the faff
and when I moved here, I had to buy some deodoriser for the carpets - in spite of them being less than a year old - because they had a dog.
Your lovely holidays will be fantastic recompense for no more Yankee Candles!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Today started very early, as we set the alarm to have a look at the Super Moon.
It don't look as red as I thought it would be, but it was a sight worth seeing, in the perfect clear sky.
Later on, after a few more hours sleep, we went to Dobbies for our September free coffee. I'm fully aware that these loyalty club 'free' coffees are designed to lure the customer in, so they spend money, but, since our splurge in July, we've been much more considered.
We only bought what we planned, some bulbs for next year.
They had loads of Christmas stuff in there. We momentarily considered new lights for the tree, as our current ones have stopped flashing in one section(need a new bulb really, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack on eBay to get the right one). But, we decided we could live with a non flashing section (oo-er) and moved on. At this rate, I'll be able to return to the Not Buying It thread !:rotfl:
The weather was so nice, we went out for two walks today
We tried a new recipe, bean curry, which involved kidney beans, lentils and chickpeas, which was nice, so we'll do it again.
We'll do the shopping tomorrow morning, then hopefully will go for another walk in the afternoonEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Yankee Candles sometimes turn up in charity shops...just saying!
(bought a couple as a gift for a friend in our local one and she was delighted )Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -

If a Yankee Candle turned up in our local charity shop I'd be gobsmacked - there's never anything decent in there!
Had a very nice few days. Have been trying to make the most of the nice weather, buy doing a few walks, mostly locally, but we went to a NT garden on Wednesday
Had my hair cut and coloured this afternoon, had a good gossip with my hairdresser.
All housework and washing done, so should be a nice relaxing weekend.
Hope everyone has a good weekendEarly retired - 18th December 2014

It's a rather gloomy day here, but I expect we'll begin to get more of these as autumn progresses
I managed to sell 4 jigsaws on eBay over the weekend, so the funds raised will go towards the more jigsaws.
About four weeks ago, I felt as if I was getting a cold.... but only in the right nostril. This 'cold' cleared up after a week, but I've been getting various aches in my nose, cheek, lip and upper teeth, all on the right hand side of my face. It was nothing very painful, and has been getting better but I felt if I could never pinpoint where the problem was.
But I've already got a dodgy tooth in my upper right hand jaw, (had root canal treatment about 10 years ago)so I was really concerned it might be that.
On Friday evening, I decided to phone the dentist today so she could have a look.
But over the weekend it's continued to improve, and this morning it feels so much better.
I'm now wondering if it was my sinus. I'm going to continue to monitor for a couple of days to see how I fare.
I think quite a few of us have a TSB current account for the 5% interest. In case you didn't know, they are doing 5% cashback on contactless transactions until December 2016. The limit is £100 spending per month, so there's potential to get £5 cashback per month.
I'm going to switch my small transaction spending to my TSB card, to take advantage of this. Every little helps, as they sayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Goldie does that mean you are NOT naughty then?!0

Hope it goes away permanently, Goldie - for years, I've had what I thought was post-shingles pain, if I was out in cool weather. But after having that tooth out a few months ago, I think it was an infection in the root - I've not had it since, and the weather has certainly been cool enough for it.
.
It's certainly been a lot better today - I've got a dental check up in December, so if it's a tooth thing, it'd hopefully show up then. But I still might book an appointment anyway. I don't mind going to the dentist when it's just s check-up, but I'm a bit girly scared when I think 'work' needs to be done.
The right side of my face is always a bit odd anyway. My right ear is my 'bad' one, and my right eye weeps if I go out in a cold wind.smallholdingsister wrote: »Goldie does that mean you are NOT naughty then?!
I'm sorry, I think you'll have to explain that one - have I done a weird typo somewhere?:rotfl:
Just been out for tea with a couple of friends, which was nice. I also have another batch of clothes from my friend to sell on eBay..... I think her wardrobes must be empty by nowEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Fraid not.... I had egg sandwich and coffee.... but it was nice anyway!
After I posted on Monday, my nose started being 'sniffy' again and I started to get assorted facial aches.
On Wednesday evening I said I'd phone the dentist the next morning, just to rule out anything relating to my teeth. Then on Thursday I work up and it was a lot better, and is still better now on Friday afternoon.
I think it must have been a sinus thing. I've got a dentist's appointment in about 7 weeks time anyway, so I'll get her to have a good look, but I feel perfectly fine now.
I've managed £9.74 of contactless card spending on my TSB card, so that's 0.48p cashback so far!:T
The sick in the bathroom got clogged yesterday and wouldn't drain, so we got some soda crystals for £1.49 and managed to clear it with the crystals and a plunger. We cleared an amazing amount of gunk.... I love doing that sort of thing!
Apart from that, just been doing some walking while the weather is goodEarly retired - 18th December 2014
