GG I saw a post by you somewhere about cruises where you talked about a company called Poland - am I dreaming as I can't find any trace of it?
Thanks.

Re the sinus issues. Google Netti pot and see if you could try that? Tried in on recommendation of yoga teacher and it did help. Have one in the bathroom now
If it comes back, I'll investigate. Although I saw a picture of it, and I think I'd get a fit of the giggles if I tried to use it!:rotfl:I have *got* to get going again on switching accounts - there's a lot of money I'm leaving on the table. Grrr. Must do better.
What time of day do you do your financial research, Goldie?
Just after lunch. I think that's when I'm at my intellectual peak (although it's difficult to notice these days!:rotfl:) I don't do mornings and I get tired in the evenings, so early afternoon is when admin type things get done.GG I saw a post by you somewhere about cruises where you talked about a company called Poland - am I dreaming as I can't find any trace of it?

I don't think it was me - I haven't heard of a company called Poland. I've Googled it and couldn't find anything likely.
EDIT - I searched the forum too, and couldn't find anything.
I think you may have been dreaming!
although dreams can be quite real. The other night I dreamt that Ewan MacGregor wrote me a letter, and when I woke up I was convinced it was real! :rotfl:Early retired - 18th December 2014

I've started on my financial plan.
This afternoon I've applied for an M&S current account and the 6% monthly saver. Mr Goldie has also applied.... I told him I was doing it on his behalf!
It appears that an immediate answer isn't given, and we get an email within 48 hours.
We're having a fairly quiet week. Mr Goldie's back is still painful, so we've managed a few short walks in between rain showers.Early retired - 18th December 2014

We've both received an email from M&S bank, asking us to call them.
We both did our callback - they just wanted to confirm how we'll be be paying money in (from Halifax account), and where the money originated from(pension).
As I started typing this message, my email pinged, and I got confirmation that I've been accepted. Hoorah! :T
Mr Goldie is off to check his emails
Edit - he's been accepted too. What a relief, I get curiously nervous about applying for current accounts.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Hello,
Like you I have M and S, Tesco, TSB accounts as well as a FD 6% saver, and my nationwide recently finished. I have a RSB vantage current account too which pays 3% up to £5k. That is worth a look. All good fun shuffling it every month!
Have a good evening,

Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Hi, just been catching up. Your finances are so orgganised GG amd your spending thoughtful. Those decisions not to spend add up to a good amount over a month. I really need to get organised with higher % accounts and regular savers.
Your cruise sounds fabulous too and the point about travelling whilst young. Too often we are all of the mindset that things can wait.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Wow. Got to get used to doing the money shuffle to take advantage of this stuff. Must Try Harder.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

And me, KC. OH and I have current accounts with 2 financial institutions - we have been with one since 1987 and the other since 1989:o and we only had 2 different ones because we were staff at those respective banks! I have just switched one sole c/ac to M&S (£100 gift card hopefully making its way to me in the next few weeks! :T) and we've opened a Co-op one to switch our Lloyds c/ac to - although haven't started the switch process yet...:o - we're a bit rubbish! I do also plan to switch our other one (and investigate better places for our savings accts) - eventually........:o:D
