morning all
didnt get the dvd watched or the nails painted last night so they are for another time
DS1 and friend said film was ok but strange, he went back to his parents lat night so didnt stay but is round again later in the week. DS2 certainly looks happier for seeing him again
clear skies again today so hopefully will get some washing dry
dancemum, weve also just had a quote for facias, are yours being covered or replaced? DH rang a national company after seeing ad in local paper, was impressed they came round measured came in explained what they do and gave us a price followed by a written quote in the post. ive only had one follow up curtisy phone call and the price doesnt change from what was originally quoted there was no hard sell. for just under £1,800 they will replace all facias, soffits, guttering and drain pipes. they remove first two rows of tiles to inspect felt and beams replacing if needed. they also put leaf guards in the guttering which is seamless ali think colour choices were black white and brown.
got a quote from someone else which was just for covering them over and that was £1,200. think were saving up for the bigger quote. if you want the name of the company ill be happy to give it i just wasnt sure if i could post it on here
ionafan i need to pm you
hugs to all the poorlies stressed and undervalued, hope things improve.
sticks and spoons for all who need those.
just printed off the invoice for DS2s drum lessons may as well send a cheque for that into school today so its not hanging about.

:jOne day they will be grown up and not want me... I shall take my cuddles when I can
So true, so true. Hope the littlies are on the mend (and you got a bit of sleep).
My day yesterday: got home from work at 1.30pm, walked the dog, took the kids to the swimming pool to meet their cousins, went to the library and studied for an hour while they were swimming, brought the kids home, made tea and cleared up then did 3 hours paid stuff till 9pm. Tidied the kitchen again and crashed into bed.
I suggested yesterday we could go out this afternoon, just the 3 of us. This was met with "oh I am not that bothered, happy to potter about at home, thought I might call and see what Tom is doing etc etc".
I dont mind really - I can catch up on some flying and I have a million and one other things to do.
Hugs all, havent had time to read properly, will catch up later.0 -
Hospital with Moomin later so need to get into the swing of things before I go, that said I was up at 6am & decided to sneak back to bed & catch up on a missed programme!!! it does feel lovely to have done a little something for me! (Easily pleased)
Right.. breakfast done, best get a shifty on, have a great day all x"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0 -
Thanks Mrs MS, I think it is for removal but I will double check. I should have the written quote through soon. I had one for £680 removing everything, colours etc My usual company was £780 reduced to £700. I have a Georgian style terrace with 2 lots of gutters at front and 1 at back.
I will make sure they are putting leaf guards in as we live next to a wood.
Wm is on.
Hospital for DS1 later. Must be the day for it.
Back later0 -
Few more jobs done.
Remembered that the half baskets were slotted onto the screws so have removed them. Wish I hadn't as I've found a dead false widow spider with what looks like a nest of eggs behind the basket. Don't know what to do with it though.
Flipping thing was on the only basket which has a living strawberry plant left in it!

mine is a 5 bed semi so slightly longer than average semi and we have the 'eaves' bit on the end.
ours also mentioned that they can put bird things in to stop birds getting in your attic but he said you have to be careful with those incase you have bats as they are protected and if they are in you arent supposed to stop themSPC~12 ot 124

Pig-pen - just wondered if you'd tried the bowl of boiling water in the sink, hold child's head over said bowl and cover with a towel - the steam might help (had the same with DS2)
She is 8 months old I wouldn't want to try.. we just head to the bathroom and run some taps. She spent the night in with me and awake every hour or so.. I think I have all my bones removed today and my eyeballs hurt.. and I am severely dehydrated.. joys of bf babies!!
Bed stripped and sheets in the washing machine.. I will get OH to put them on the line shortly.. it is nice out there today so they should dry well.. hopefully I can get them back on and not have to use my other set dried in the dryer.. outside laundry smells so much nicer!
Moomin at hospital later and OH off to the gym this morning he said.. IF!! DS1 turns up.
I'm not doing much today I am way too tired and will probably spend most of the day cuddling a hot sad baby and knitting very slowly in between.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
