Monday ~ Stairs, Landing & Bathrooms
15 minutes...100% done.
30 minutes to spare...100% done
Got an hour... 100% done
[STRIKE]Wipe all the paintwork up the stairs and on the landing
Wash towels and flannels
Shine the mirrors and wash the windows[/STRIKE]
Extras
[STRIKE]Wipe your washing line over and wash your pegs[/STRIKE]
Sort out your nail polish and paint your toenails ..................SOOOOOO CLOSE to a clean sweep....if I play hunt the nail varnish I might actually clear the lot!
In other flying news at the Skint Pitz today......
Venetian blinds on Landing and 2 sets in Hallway also done
TV and all electrical in LR polished
Mirror and all picture frames polished
TV cabinets and 3 coffee tables polished
4 radiators polished
1 light in LR attempted until Incy Wincy decided to bungy jump on her homemade rope, scaring me half to death and falling off the sofa :eek::eek:
My BR and DD4 window frames and sills given a quick polish
I am desperately trying to avoid going out into the Utility room......a prime example of a Cane Toad if ever there was one
The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Proud of you flyers one and all, those who achieved what they wanted to have a gold star, those who didn't well tomorrow is another day.
DS3 in bed, he kept saying just another chapter tonight. He is on a mission for us to finish the book we are sharing.
Off to do the list for tomorrow now.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
BTW, if anyone wants a good hint for cleaning plastic pegs
get a DW tablet chuck in sink with hottest water you can get out of your tap..........tip in all your pegs, stir them around with long handled implement (no burning hands on my account please!)
When water has cooled to a reasonable temperature take out the pegs and rinse in clean water......all your dead spider carcasses, pieces of stray grass etc will all be floating in the sink and your pegs will be lovely with next to no effort
Trust me this also works well with those annoying foot crunching brightly coloured bricks called "Leg - Oh my blinking foot - who left that lying around!"The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
Day one - bathroom and stairs.
I got back from shopping to find an unexpected visitor would be arriving in 30mins so it was an unscheduled muck out of the conservatory instead of bathroom and stairs!
However I did get the stairs hoovered and the bathroom spruced up later. DS did some sorting of the laundry pile and took his clothes up to his bedroom. DD also took hers up. Lots of washing up also got done and the kitchen cleaned up so overall today has been a success. Bring on day tw."A thousand candles can be lit from a single candle without shortening the life of that candle."
I still am Puddleglum - phew!0 -
Ah, thank you Valli that makes sense, I've got a big fat frog to eat tomorrow morning. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Yes Auntie Sceb I agree, nothing better than an assignment to make the housework suddenly look attractive. :rotfl:OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Thinking of getting fascia etc replaced. Hmm had a reasonable quote from my door company and they have given me a loyalty discount.
Good luck Valli with your internal and external observations. Hope you are more appreciated soon. Thanks for the cheer leading.
Ds2 was vile most of the evening. I'm off to buy earplugs tomorrow.
We planned to take DS1 to Liverpool for his 18th birthday in Dec. He supports a football team there so we were going to take the stadium tour etc.
He decided today to ask if he could be taken in 2 weeks time to see a match.DH agreed forgetting the birthday plansI have bought them a two for one rail card and will book rail tickets soon. I need to also find out how they get from the station to the ground (45min walk each way).
We may have to think of another birthday treat as I think 8 month is too early to say it is his present.

My poorly Pixie is very unhappy
Her smiles are broken
.. This cough is awful.. I hate croup and there is nothing you can do to make it go any quicker.. I guess I'm having a little miss in my bed tonight. That or we end up sleeping on the bathroom floor! (steamy room for croup) .. I may need to sort doctors for her tomorrow too.
My heart hurts for those babies of Peaches.. at 10 and 20 months they won't remember her or how much she loved them.. good job that lovely interview with that ghastly Katie woman shows her in all her proud glory of being their mum.. and all the amazing things she wanted for them both.. if it turns out to be a drug related death then she asked for trouble but those babes didn't. That family haven't had an easy path and their grieving for their wife, daughter, sister is all the more public.. I mentioned on my sisters fb rant how if it were our sister we could at least grieve in private but their loss would be no more or less than theirs.. it's just so sad.
My heart breaks for all those babies missing a parent, my 2 cousins who lost both parents before they could even know who they were, and our amazing flymums who do amazing things, and the dads left behind.. so much responsibility on the remaining parent yet still needing to grieve themselves.. I can't think how they go on.
Oh.. we are having 2 babies in bed tonight.. Dot is needing me too... no sleep for me again!!
One day they will be grown up and not want me... I shall take my cuddles when I can
Nothing done today I am way too tired.. Moomin at hospital tomorrow for growth check, I need to sort her new boot and also ring to speak to the head of transition at her new high school, they aren't allowed to wear boots to school but she can't walk in shoes!
Best go drug my cat.. and get to my nest before the next child wakes up and I lose my bed entirely to mini-me's!!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

Sorry about the OSD. Doesn't seem to be much that helps apart from rest, though sometimes a hot or cold compress (it seems to vary) helps. Very painful I knowAuntie_Sceb wrote: »Having not decided whether my hall is a hall or a landing (1st floor flat) it also got a double dose last week.
Pig-pen - just wondered if you'd tried the bowl of boiling water in the sink, hold child's head over said bowl and cover with a towel - the steam might help (had the same with DS2)
Well - had a good day but seem to have started at the wrong end of the weekly list but hope to catch up in the middle
The kitchen called and I had to do the rest of the bagging and freezing(which included some freezer juggling) from the weekend cook-in. So got carried away and did all the WUDUPA I could find, cleaned the bunkers, cleaned the hob, oven and micros, sorted the recycling and put out to bins, did packed 'tea' for me and left dinner for DH.
Then I did some surveys, sent away for some courses for DH, answered some e-mails and went to work (for a rest) :rotfl:
Think DH noticed, as when I came home he had washed up his dishes and left kitchen CLEAN !! I just fell in the bath and now off to bed.
Hope you all have a terrific Tuesday

Morning all. Still at the paid stuff. Will crack on with something from the list before bed. Had to laugh at DH earlier. I wasn't able to unscrew the hanging basket brackets so I left my screwdriver out by the kettle. When I came downstairs from cleaning the bathroom, I said I couldn't get them off and shooed him out into the garden to put something in the bin. There he was looking at them saying he could do it at the weekend when I handed him the screwdriver. He was still saying he could do it at the weekend when he'd finished taking htem off 5 minutes later! Attaboy DH! Just got to get him back out there tomorrow evening to get the 3 half moon baskets off and then I can prep it for painting
.
Right, jobs to do....
Valli; hope things improve for you at work soon.
Piggers, poorly babies.
